Does this mid-length A4 have a rear site or do I need to buy that separately?

Eventually, I'll get a carry handle for this, but I'm on a tight budget and can't spend the extra $130 right now (if I don't have to).

No rear sight, at least my RRA 9mm upper A4 didn't have one. Just find a reasonable price BUIS rear sight instead of the handle that won't be useful with optics.

I'm sure someone will make some recommendations for you :)

Huck,

No rear sight on that upper. You probably want to spring the extra $40 for the chrome-lined barrel also. I could get you into a mid-length CMMG for only about $40 more (some coming in next week). Or I could get you a Stag (carbine length) INCLUDING a rear sight or carry handle and chrome lined for about $30 - $40 more (including tax), and could ship it tomorrow.

Thanks. I'm actually choosing this one because I want the 1/8 twist on the stainless steel barrel. That gets me up to $520 for the upper.

All the CMMG's I've seen have been 1/7 twist and I'm trying to avoid that. Do they have any 1/8 or 1/9 CMMG barrels?

I haven't considered Stag, but I may have to if the cost gets away from me.

I've only seen stainless 1/8s from CMMG in longer builds (18+).

The Wylde chamber is probably the much more important difference.

Dude, checkout Irvington Arms in Fremont, they just got in a boatload of RRA and CMMG uppers..

Yes, I should have mentioned the Wylde chamber. Just read about that today on the ammo-oracle site. I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that the .223 and 5.56 are not (exactly) the same. That chamber plus the 1/8 twist means I can shoot just about any round, right?

Yep, though IIRC the Ammo Oracle states 1:9 is optimum...

not for the heavier rounds. If you want to shoot the 75 or 77gr bullets, go with 1:7.

Tracers in NV, too. :)

Yes, but they don't even mention the 1/8 anywhere in the document. I assume that means it was written before the 1/8 was an option. Maybe a bad assumption...
