lately ive been seeing ruger rifles with very poor buttplate fittings

i've seen recent 10/22s a 44 magnum carbine and mini 14s with wood stocks all of them with the wood stocks and plastic fold over at the top plates fit very poory with wood wider than the plastic plastic wider than the wood big gaps under the middle of the plate that you can see through

is this common i haven't bought a ruger since the early 90s and these weird anomalys were all made between 1999 and now

anybody else notice poor ruger buttplate fitting

Yep I noticed it because I put the extensions on them. While removing the extensions I saw that there was really no two alike. The older ones were tighter but the newer ones looked better with the extensions. The metal ones seemed to be better fitted. I have 2 of those.

PS. Dont buy a cheap extension they are hard to fit on and look stuped when the bottom has a gap and the top looks stretched. Buy a good one from a decent Mfr.
