I wrote up a letter seeing if they can address several questions of mine about hi cap magazines but I'm trying to figure out which address to send it to. The website is a little confusing but I think this is the one:

Bureau of Firearms
P.O. Box 820200
Sacramento, CA 94203-0200

I know some of you have written them before, is this it?

i sent them an email a couple times. here is the link;
http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/contact.php

this way, they actually call back about 3-5 days later and answer your questions. the person that called me seemed like a cool guy, really understanding of my concerns. i was kinda pissed about certain pistols not being on the list and he told me a few ways i could try to convince the people in charge to reconsider. i believe his name was jeff or jason.

Cool, thats the page i figured but didnt want to waste my time sending it to the wrong thing.

Another question: If I email them questions do they only respond via email or phone? I would like a hard copy of what they write me.

Your best bet would be to write a letter and request a response via letter... What is said over the phone is not valid, only what is written on their response you can use... I think that there are several letters that were responded to by DOJ in reference to HI CAPS MAGS that people have scanned and placed here on Cal GUns.. That might be what you are looking for..

they will call you back, but like usn chief said, i think it would be better to get a response in black&white.

Maybe your questions about high-cap mags have already been answered?

I was actually looking for that and PM'ed hoffmang for a link. 2 reasons why I want to mail it is 1) I want to ask a few questions that haven't been covered regarding an individual making 10 round mags inside high cap bodies either in or out of CA. 2) I would like something in writtign with my name on it just in case I need to refer to it for some reason.

Yeah, I bookmarked that one because it's so important in detailing the DoJ's position on various high-cap issues.

When you get your reply you should post it up here so the answers to your new questions can be added the hive's knowldedge-base. :D

That's the plan. So since we're talking DOJ speed, i'll have the answers posted here in 3-4 months.
