I have been contacting his campaign and appears to be a good choice for my area. So i was wondering if calguns foundation would like to support this candidate since we cannot afford to lose anymore ground to the anti gun politicians? Let me know on what you think.

Um, sorry Tom...

...the Calguns Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and is separate from Calguns website. Thus it, and those speaking on its behalf (as opposed statements as individuals separate from the CGF), cannot recommend for or against candidates, ballot issues, etc.

Due to this, CGF activities are wholly restricted to educational matters (such as running informational ads in law enforcement magazines and legal newspapers like The Recorder), and CGF will also participate in supporting legal defenses in appropriate selected 'key' firearms cases.

CGF was founded to emphasize & focus upon these specific goals; the already-up-and- running California NRA infrastructure and its regional Members Councils would be better suited to local firearms political activism and candidate recommendations/assistance.

I would encourage you to both contact and join your local NRA Members Council to get a 'reading' on individuals running for local office. Sheriffs' elections are obviously very important and very relevant to the gunrights fight in CA, and the MC folks are the people "on the ground" who understand their locales and the people participating in local politics.

Thanks for the advise. I will contact and join the local NRA Members Council, putting my NRA membership to good use.
