I've got a pre-Accutrigger Savage in 300 WinMag.

It's still new and has never been fired, but I'm considering dropping in a new trigger assembly with a crisp, lighter pull.

Any opinions and/or recommendations? What should I expect to spend?

Thanks!

I put a Timney in a Stevens 200 I had. It was very easy to install and adjust. Ended up with a very nice pull. It was 75 bucks or so, from what I remember.

Dunno about new trigger but I had Randy do some work on Luc's rifle which is also a pre-accutrigger savage. He now has a nice, crisp 3 pounds trigger. Much better then originally.

I have a Timney in my 700 and I really like it a lot. I am assuming it will be just as good in the savage model.

I have two Sharpshooter Supply Competition triggers, they run about $85 and are adjustable from 12 oz to about 2 lbs.

These are not for casual shooters and walking around hunting guns as the max pull is only two lbs. I would put them on varmint/target guns that are shot off the bench or prone.

Besides Timney, Rifle Basix also makes a replacement trigger fo the Savage.

I had an SSS on my savage finally after shooting it for 5 months with factory one. Its a nice trigger.
