How hard is the SRT to install?

It's not an SRT, it's a short trigger.

Currently, sending your gun to the SIG-Sauer Custom Shop is the only way you can get a SRT (Short Reset Trigger) installed. The parts aren't even offered to SIG certified armorers.

The short trigger on the other hand, does not alter the mechanism of the trigger. It is simply a differently contoured trigger where the face of the trigger is closer to the grip. It simply shortens the reach to the trigger.

The short trigger is easy to install, and requires no special tools other than a proper sized, hollow ground, screwdriver to remove grip screws.

Remove slide.
Remove right grip panel.
Unhook trigger bar spring from trigger bar.
Decock hammer.
Remove takedown lever (turn counter-clockwise while pulling out).
Remove locking insert.
Push out trigger pivot pin.
Remove slide catch lever.
Remove trigger bar and trigger.
Remove trigger from trigger bar.
Insert trigger bar into new trigger.
Reassemble by reversing disassembly order.

You're done.
