Like the title says . . . I'm AD military and a resident of WA. Being assigned to CA soon. Want to bring my AR-15 and handguns. But not sure of the whole AWB position and my status as "resident". Any help is appreciated.
I checked the CA DOJ website but it's about as useful as a "poop flavored lollipop". Yes, I stole that one from "Dodgeball".

You need to contact DOJ and ask about However, CA DOJ does issue 'MAWP' documents - 'Military Assault Weapons Permit' - for active duty military personnel stationed here, for the duration of their duty here. If you separate/retire from your service while here, the permit is invalid and you'd need to move your AW outside CA before that happens (otherwise you'd illegally possess an unreg'd assault weapon).
BEFORE you move here.
