I made this without a jig/press/spot welder/ rivet tool. I used my mig welder to gluegun everything together. The reciever was built from a flat, and to bend it I used a buncha beating from a hammer to coerce it into submission. Much of this build was done by eyeballing it, but in the end it appears to have worked out. The receiver is far from perfect and the only way to describe it is 'lumpy' Thanks for everyones help, thank you cal guns!

looks good. Now replace the front hanguard with a black one. Then you have one evil rifle :D

Hey, whatever it takes - I have all the tools, and my first one still took me a hard time - good job!

Wow, that was fast!

Lol thanks. When i get going on a project I HAVE to finish it. I will admit though, a couple times I did want to give up and buy a receiver.

I still haven't taken it out shooting yet, but I'm pretty sure it'll fire and have no problems cycling the next round and firing again.

At the time of the pictures the paint was still fresh :D I was too excited to wait!!

don't feel bad about how you did it. how do you think third world countries make theirs. Its a ak. thats why they were voted number 1 weapon in the world. I have to say your rifle is more valuable to you than if you had bought it. I am sure you had a few cuts and bruises making that so its part of you.

Looks functional. I just did a tapco flat BTF(beat to fit) onto an RPK reciever and welded it. I think the "non authentic" builds are the most rewarding/

Wow, thanks for the positive comments everyone. I personally thought it was kinda ugly and i had quite possibly 'the uglyest ak on calguns' on my hands lol. Im on the hunt for a 5 or 10 round magazine so i can take this badboy to the range and see how she does.

Yeah, thats very true. This rifle is worth a lot to me, I sure did put a lot of time, effort, blood, sweat and swearing into this.:D

Is it just the pictures or do I not see the holes/pins for the FCG?

Congrats on the tooless build job.

All the rivets have been welded and grinded as smooth as my dremel/bench grinder could get them. I tried using the rivets but i could not get them to mushroom for the life of me.
