Hello to the site, I was searching for info on the saiga 308 rifle on the web last week and found a lot of great info here at calguns. A new rifle is on its way to my FFL, a saiga 308 16", and for those on this site that prefer AR's I have one of those already that I obtained back in the early eighties when they weren't considered evil.
I will need some help with locating extra factory mags and 308 ammo at a reasonable price. I am located east of San Diego.
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Welcome to the forum. You only bought one Saiga!? Wait until you find out they're addictive.

Hey Bowser, Don't now how, will have to see if the kids can show me. They only sold Colts back then, it's a carbine with the original 1/12 twist, I purchased it used with the original Colt scope, case and three 30 round mags. The previous owner traded for a Galil.

I have 6 20 round AR curved mags in kits for 15.00 each if you want them. I'm located in Alpine. Pm me if your interested,
Russ

There is a good source for Saiga Mags, www.saigastock.com

That's how I found this site, I was looking at how to get a Saiga after being told numerous times it was illegal.

69 Mach1, Thanks! just need the one for now, wanted to obtain it while I still could before any changes in the political arena, but I know what you mean, the safe just keeps getting smaller.

USN Chief, Thanks for the reply, Lately to the local indoor range in Santee but you can't shoot the rifles, and the low light conditions are more difficult with aging eyes. I need to find a better place for me and my eleven year old son to go shooting.

They will charge $65 a year to shoot all you want. Or $650 for life member. You can't beat it. They also have a junior program. See you there:)

Hi Russ, thanks! Don't need any AR mags at this time, just looking for the Saiga 308 mags for the new rifle for now.

Hi Jacques, thanks for the info, I guess 33.00 - 40.00 is the going rate.
I know what you mean with the false information, even some sellers on gun broker won,t sell saigas in CA.

If you're looking for another place to shoot, I enjoy Project 2000 Range in El Cajon. They've got a very nicely lit indoor range that goes out to 100 yards.
