The 606 Mammoth is a .599 inch diameter tip, which is maximum allowable in California. Standard is 850 grain bullets. Loads worked up to around 2500 fps with 850 grain tips.

Could you please Quote or provide a link to the P.C. that states that .599" is the largest allowable in California. Never herd of that rule before.

Thank you, in-other-words the 700 N.E.and other large bore nitro cartridges has effective been outlawed in california.

I've heard from people, with no sources or examples to back it up, that you can get the 700NE and the like because they are for the sole purpose of hunting. Something like that...However, these issues of bigger than 0.60 don't come up that often...

Yeah I've seen a .700 NE double for sale here in CA and was talking to someone at the gun range once about a 600 NE showing up there, but trying to find out a definitive answer has been hard.

I've shot my 50 without the muzzle brake before and I think I'm still scared of the T-REX:eek: Is it as bad as the accurate reloading videos?

only if you load it up to around 2500-2600

when i have been with him shooting, we have never shot for groups, basically "just having fun" with it.

all shooting has been off-hand except one time when the RO told us either sit or dont shoot...so we sat one time...never again

i think he might try for some groups soon (had it for a while, but we dont get to go shooting that often being college students), and the most i have ever shot in one day is two.

groups in the near future if our shoulders can take it
