I am considering selling my still new in the box Polytech m-14s, with all of the original packaging. Yes, one of the old ones with a forged receiver, that hasn't been imported for quite a while. Any idea what would be a fair asking price? Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Hey SpaaaaaaaccccceeeeeGhooooooooooooooosssssssstttt!

This may help:

"M14 rifles are now made by a number of boutique and custom manufacturers, many of which are one and two man operations. The Chinese M14 was the last of the under $500 M14 rifles ever to be sold in the US as most M14 type rifles reached well over the $1000 mark by the year 2000. That has put upward pressure on the value of the import M14 type rifles floating around on the used gun market, but they still only rarely break over $1000 and usually will trade hands among shooters in the $600 to $800 range with no particular value to collectors. That makes the Polytech a prize sought after by survivalists who still want to have a usable M14 without totally flattening the wallet."

The ones I've seen go at the top end of that quote up there... maybe even a little higher.

If you're looking to sell, put it at $1000 and drop it in $50 increments until it goes. That's my suggestion.

Hey SpaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccceGhoooooooooooooooooooo oooooost,

Obviously you have a gem here because you have a vendor and a couple of badass senior members with 1000+ post counts bidding on it.

Sure you don't wanna keep it?

uclaplinker has the best suggestion, if you wanted to get rid of it for the most $$$.

But, I'll take it for $750. ;)

Sold mine with two spare chinese barrels for 800 a couple years ago at a gunshow. Seems to be the going rate.

The only reason I am considering selling it is because I am more of AR guy and would re-invest the cash in a high end upper, noveske or something similiar. It seriously just sits in the safe and I almost feel guilty about it not having a good home.

Yes, but how many are serious? I promise you, he posts it for $1000, it will fall on silence. Everyone talks big in threads, with a few exceptions.
