I got some money to buy a new toy. I am in dilema to choose between PS90 or BW5. My intention is just for plinking and also need a decent accurate.
Please advice

If you don't reload I would say the BW5 or CA94.The 5.7 ammo for the PS90 is kind of pricey

5.7 ammo is available at around $19-20 per box of 50 at midwayusa.com. Hardly overpriced, esp. compared to say, .223.

BUT- 9mm is th eonly cheap roudn elft to plink with. And you have to horribly disfigure the PS90 while you live in CA (MMG or fixed mag on the BW5). So it's your call.

What do you LUST after?

I think that is the most important thing right there.

That's really all that matters.

Can I suggest a "none of the above" and get a USC -> UMP. Real HK beats imitators.

Also, you might want to wait about 6 months... the HK94/MP5 realm could get more interesting...

TB (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuberculosis)

My vote goes to BW5. PS90, while interesting, never looked that good to me. The freeworld version was bad enough but it gets worse after Californication. On top of that the round is unimpressive and expensive.

All I can say is that I love my PS90!!! It is porbably one of most fun guns I have to shoot.

The modifications to be CA compliant are actually quite minimal (when done right) and actually make the gun more comfortable.

While some modifications add 4" to the back to get the OAL up to 30", this is a bit much, BUT if you add 2" to the back (and there is an polymer extender that looks just like the rest of the gun) then slip a fake silencer on the front and slip it out 2", then the OAL is 30".

The extra 2" in the back actually makes the gun MORE comfortable to hold since the gun was designed to be held/shot while wearing body armor (so it's actually a bit short if you're just wearing a t-shirt) but with 2" inches more it's perfect.

The only other change is fixing the magazine. The LanWorld CA variation shears the ears off the mag release lever which then requires you to use a 'credit card' as your tool to pop the magazine. It's quick and easy.

I personally made a custom BB for mine and replaced the sheared mag levers, but the LAN World system is actually easier to use.

Ammo isn't that expensive any more (relatively speaking... +/- $20 for 50 rounds) and it's a lot of fun to shoot. You can argue whether or not the 5.7x28 round is a good military round or has good stopping power, but I've never heard anyone complain about it's ballistics and accuracy. I didn't have to adjust the sights on my pistol when changing from 25' to 100 yards the last time I was at the range. The 5.6x28 shoots very flat.

In my opinion it is far more fun to shoot, and a far more comfortable gun to hold then any of the MP5 variants. (regardless of caliber)

But this is all IMOHO

Unfortunately I don't have a pic of my PS90 with out all the mods, but it was just as fun to shoot "CA Stock".

The mods to the gun in the pic above are: 2" extension of the stock, MFI fake suppressor (slid 2" forward), Eotech, additional side rails, forward quad-rail and a system, and a custom check rest (from a JAE-100 MA1 Stock). The tiny silver dot in the pick between the check rest and the end of the magazine is my custom BB.

Also pictured with the PS90 is the 5-7 handgun.

Also, the PS90 is about the simplest rifle I know to field strip. Pop the mag, push a button and the gun comes apart. As easy if not more so than then the AR or the AK.

IMO the only real legit complaint against the PS90 is that it is a very expensive gun to start with. BUT, like I said, it is one of the most fun guns I have to actually shoot! But I will admit that it's looks are not for everyone AND if you have BIG fingers... this gun may not be for you (due to the way you grip the gun and where the trigger is)

I also love that the brass shoots straight out the bottom. If you attach their little bag, you never have to go searching for spent brass!

I also have a MP5 variant that I rarely take out to the range because it just is not as much fun to shoot. It's cool looking, but is not as comfortable to hold or shoot (IMO).

Interesting. Any more rumors besides the single-page website? And they use the HK logo prominently. Does that mean they have some sort of affiliation with HK? Maybe I'll head over to HKPro to find out....

The PS90 mag can easily be fixed with some threaded rod, wellnuts, and brass nuts. You can solder the back of each nut too if you want to be paranoid.
You get to keep the original mag release, and if installed in the front of the mag, it still slides up and back with lenty of space fo rreloading (the wellnuts keep the receiver from getting banged up).
