First off thanks goes to Pete, Randall and Joe for all the help in producing this rifle. I have a couple of small things to iron out but she shoots well and feels great.

Remington 700 SA in an AICS
Camo by Drawn at Airbrush Armory (I know but I couldn't resist, the paint held up great)
Holland recoil lug
Rock Creek AMU barrel in 308
Badger FTE Brake
IOR Rings
Warne 20MOA base
IOR 4-14x50 illuminated scope.

So far I am very pleased with the results. I did not measure the groups but I am very pleased with the results so far especially over the chrony. I still need to duracoat the barreld action but that can wait till after the match next week.

My 175g SMK load is done. Using FGMM brass and 41.5g of IMR4895 was running 2800 fps with an ES of 16. My scenar load needs a little work. It is running 2980 fps with an ES of 41. Fastest round out of 10 was 3006 fps and slowest was 2965. Average was about 2980.

It grouped pretty well for me being behind the trigger. From a bipod with a rear bag I am guesstimating .5 to .6 groups. Waiting for the measurements on one of the targets.

5 shots of 155g scenars

4 shots each of 155g scenars. I pulled the 5th round on the right group and I need to work on my breathing.

The scenar load took 6 minutes to get to the buff at 400 yards.

I am pretty sure it will cause the 175 (forgot to get a pic) was a lot tighter. It was closer to .3.

the chamber will do 155,168, and 175 very well. those rock barrels are amazingly fast and accurate.

Impressive. Looks like a winner. You don't happen to have a 243 reamer, do ya' Pete? :D

Looks great, i was worried with you guys building a rifle. It might help to reload some ammo to go shooting. I got all packed up and had nothing :(

Hmm. Looking at my old range card. The same load in the factory barrel is .5 moa lower at 400 yards. The factory remmy was using 6.50 moa at 400 and the new dope is 6.00 with the Rock barrel.

Just got back a couple min ago from shooting. Here are some pics. 40 degrees 30-45MPH winds.
9.24moa up with my 190s and 2nd mildot holding on center of target. Produced an 4" group of steel. Im happy with 190s, 210 SUCKED!!! ES AND ED WAS way way way HIGH, im gona drop my charges down and start over after match.
Target is on the top of road next to bush!

In case your wondering these roads are left over from the 70s. There used to by weapon grade nuclear missels here.

Nice. I may use the 175 load for the match since it is pretty on the money and drop my charge down a little for the scenar. I just checked my scenar notes and it is at 45.5g and running 2980 but I think I want to do 45. That should be a good spot to be. Then again I might as well use the scenars up I have loaded. They were shooting well at 100. Should help with the dot drill.

Did you even try the 210 come-ups I gave you in that other thread, or did you abandon 210's after chronograph tests?

Got a muzzle velocity on the 190's?

How do you like the badger FTE brake?

Does it effect your POI a lot when you take it off? Thinking of using one when I rebarrel my 300WM.

This is my third FTE and I have never seen a shift in impact with the other two when removing and reinstalling.

I have never shot the rifle without it though. Recoil is very much minimized and it will annoy shooters next to you, a plus in my book during competition :D

Yeah, you two need to be next to each other. That way, you'll both know what the other one is going through.

LOL.....looks like I may need to get one for my 300WM.

I am hoping Mark requires folks to control debris. It is one thing to deal with the noise but its a whole new thing if one can not see a target to shoot due to the dust and crap kicked up by those things.

Pete's Thruster actually threw more stuff Saturday when we were shooting next to each other. The FTE is biased more upwards so it doesn't throw as much stuff but it will throw a fairly large blast to the side.

I have a blast mat that works very well.

all rifles made by joe and i are simply just hobby rifles. no intentions of starting a gunsmithing business in the near future. we are concentrating more on making parts. first part will come out in the next few weeks. we will have standard tactical bolt knobs and custom tactical bolt knobs based on a blank joe designed.

also wanted to mention that Randy at R+D helped Joe and I big time. All I can say about Randy is that he is one of the coolest and nicest guy out there in the gunsmithing business. Big props to Randy @ R+D.

You know what I like about the new gun. It is very consistent. I know exactly what it will do with each shot (well learning at least0. I couldn't say that about the savage or the remmy before the work. The other guns shot well but if I threw a round I didn't know if it was the gun or me.

No more excuses :)

Is that the action your going to finish?
