Yeah, but, but, but the NRA does nothing for us. They are just a shill for the gun manufacturers.

LaPierre gets paid too much. They send too much mail.

Notice where the article stated how effective the NRA could be rallying single issue voters in close races. Imagine how effective the NRA could be with double the membership.

$35.00 and a little participation could get a lot of mileage in getting where we need to be and staying there.

Most people spent more than that on some bobble for their rifle that mostly sits in a safe.

A lot of those same people spend hours trying to bump their post count, but can't write a letter to a congressman because its too much of a hassle or they don't have the time.

Sorry for the thread derail, but maybe I planted a seed or two.
We can all do better, myself included..

I think that this last couple years has shown that the NRA really does help us. They have been the driving force behind many of the largest firearms cases in the last decade. For a while, around the 80's and 90's, the NRA dropped it's guard and tried to do the right thing by going with ideas that people thought would curb the drug/gang violence in America. And other times... we all know they haven't been perfect. But now they are really pushing hard for us, we need to keep supporting that, rather than trying to faction our supporters.

Granted, I do think that they have the gun manufacturers interests at heart, big time. But who buys those guns? Us. If we can't buy em, they can't sell em.

They should have the gun manufacturers interests at heart. And the hunters and target shooters and airsoft and accessory manufacturers and anything else gun related and pro 2a.

As far as being perfect, show me any organization that gets it right 100% of the time.

Bottom line is they have been there for us even when we think they are sleeping, and we would be unarmed if it wasn't for the NRA.

Bloomie and Feinstein and Brady attack the NRA because they are their biggest stumbling block to disarming the country.

Exactly! There's power in numbers.

Just think how much respect the NRA would get in Washington if there were 20 million members behind them.

You know the whores in D.C. would be worried about our votes.

So we are infected?

He uses a common metaphor to equate firearm possession with a viral contagion.

...maybe yes, infected with liberty and freedom to defend myself and loved ones.

I joined, was immediately bombarded with marketing and special offers to purchase a bunch of ridiculous crap. It turned me off.

Yep.. they did that to me also. I just called them and told them to stop. I haven't gotten anything in years. Really simple.

This.

The NRA won't send you stuff if you don't want to see it. But you do have to tell them that you don't want to see it.

Kudos to the NRA but...don't forget the people who contacted their representatives to tell them to not nominate this guy.

I recently upgraded to Benefactor Life Member. I'm at the highest grade of life membershp and proud of it. I still send them a few dollars from time to time. I'm glad we are a thorn in the administration's flesh. Let's hope they can do as well in this socialist republic.
