Finally got the Savage MkII 17hm2 out for a quick shoot. Picked this up on the cheap a few months back and immediately started messing with it. Found some time over the last few storms to do a trigger job and polish the action a bit. Filled the butt as well as the forward portion of the tupperware stock with some glass. Gave it some added heft and rigidity. Still havent bedded the action but Im sure Ill get to it soon enough. Trigger breaks like glass although its still a bit heavy, will have to work on that as well. Added the bipod from a Calgun seller (Thanks Japsican). The scope is a Mueller Mil Dot 8.5x25x44 and really lets you get in close and see the intentions of those little b#stards! I swear one of em gave me the finger! Anyways....this is by far my favorite shooter. The HM2 round is super flat and cheap to boot. Really gets up and goes! If you dont own a rifle in this caliber you are really missing out.

Ya its kinda like a midget with a size 14 shoe if you know what I mean. But I have to say its nice to get in close, the round is accurate enough to use the magnification. Alas, no carnage shots but I can assure you this thing has enough velocity that it will do some serious damage to a 8 oz squirrel.

That's one nutty looking squirrel, just hanging out like that... he definitely has a pair if he'd stand out in the open with hunters around. What's the sack limit on squirrels?

I only see 3 pictures of a gun, but no pictures of dead squirrels.
Looks like the squirrels won. ;)

If I wasnt so damned lazy I woulda walked down the hill and poked at em, but then again, thats if I wasnt so lazy. Maybe I need a camera with the same qualities as my scope. Now there is an idea! That, and a recliner with a built in bench rest!
