Police Standoff in Clairmont

Claremont --

Claremont -- A man shot and wounded his wife today, then barricaded himself inside his house, and Sheriff's Department SWAT deputies surrounded the residence as neighbors were evacuated, authorities said.

The wounded woman's elderly mother remained in the house at 885 Baseline Road in an unincorporated area of Claremont but was later rescued by SWAT deputies, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Details of the rescue were not immediately released.

The man's wife, who took a shot to the chest some time before 6:15 a.m., fled to a neighbor's home, said Sgt. Bruce Vallerand of the sheriff's San Dimas Station.

Paramedics sent to Mountain Avenue and Baseline Road about 7 a.m. transported the 51-year-old woman to a hospital, where she was in stable condition, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Sam Padilla.

Anyone else notice this as I have been taking notice since the Clintonism years.

Either more of these nuts come out during presidential election years to do their shooting and other sensational crimes with guns or is it that the media sensationalizes every crime with a gun in a bid to promote their anti-gun socialist agenda. Not sure which or a little of both.

I was thinking the same thing.

In the last week or two there must have been 5 or 6 shootings around the country I heard or read about.

Well, at least no one died... Good thing but this will still hurt law abiding gun owners...

You'd be surprised at how much doesn't make the news...

In just Natomas "a section of Sacramento City"

Just a few days ago we had a murder + robbery, guy was shot and killed inside his garage.

Last night, two gang members with an AK47 were in natomas doing armed robberies, no one majorly hurt, but they were caught.

Not trying to push an agenda here, but if you dig enough you could seriously have hundreds of gun related crimes a day.

I personally think its reporters wanting to make an issue of something already there. They want to push gun control :(
