Anyone heard of ZT(zero tolerance) knives?
After buying one at a gun show that I just had to have, I checked them out on the internet and found that Ken Onion designed the knife that I bought.
I have heard that name before, but was wondering if anyone had some input good or bad.

they are kershaw on crack, high quality knives designed to be used by the military and law enforcement.
i have a zt301 very happy with it

I know ken personally. He never does a knife less than 100%. He practically built kershaw but left because they stopped listening to him. He makes his own customs which he has to SELL by lottery due to their demand. He gave me a zt 300 last time I was at his home in Kailua HI. Buy any knife he designs tactical or kitchen and you will not regret it!

There is not a better production knife than ZT.

Zero Tolerance knives are very high quality. Ken Onion designs are outstanding. Both are highly regarded in the knife collecting realm.

Yep ZT is GTG. Just hope you didn't pay an arm and leg for it at the gun show.. I sometimes see them for 2 and 3 times the price you can get them for online.

Cant go wrong with any of them. I have several of them. Ive hammered a zt350tsst through wood. Cut copper wire. Countless boxes. The dlc coated was scuff but still rock solid. Eventually gave it to my friend as his first zt knife becaisr he was so impressed with it.

ZT koolaid.

Their big.bulky.
Not the best edc.

I had a 550 that was a pain to open
even after doing the detent mod.
Dumb idea of only putting a scale on one side.
leaving the other side SlLICK.

The 350 was better for me.
Speed assist. Both sides textured..

Over built. Yes.

But I still carry a Spyderco or benchmade
and Kershaws Ken onion designed
more often than a ZT.

If you want a ZT like blade.
Get the Kershaw Cryo II hinderer.
Under 30 bucks.

Or if you just gotta have. Get a ZT.

I have been a die hard Gerber fan for years...

I recently sipped the Kershaw Koolaid and bought a Cryo, then picked up a Cryo II. I can't wait for the Ember to be released (basically a small Cryo). I love the fit/feel/design.

I like the look & feel of the ZT knives, but they are just a bit too $$$ for me :(

I have 2 Zero Tolerance knives the 200 and the 121 (folder and fixed blade) and yes they are heavy and not the best for survival purposes. But with that being said they were not meant to be survival knives they were designed to keep you alive in a confrontation ie battle field or the streets; hence why the original marketing was for law enforcement and Military. In terms of combat knives and everyday carry knives I think they rock.

Here is a review I did on the 0121

I just got a ZT350BW and it's pretty awesome. Sharp blade and it has a lot of heft to it. It is a little wider than I originally wanted for an EDC but I quickly got used to it and it's been outstanding. They have a lifetime free sharpening and also on their site it says if you manage to break the blade they will replace it for $30. Definitely not afraid to really use this thing. I'm not sure if any other companies offer the same thing but I think that's a pretty good deal.

Huge zt fan here. I'm HARD on my knives.0300,0301,0561,0350,0400,0550,
Some are a little on the heavy side but take my abuse with ease. Honestly all the knives listed are great.just be prepared to buy more than one.
As for a great edc ,the 0350st is really nice.light with a great scale. Plus there are aftermarket scales.

Benchmade replaces broken blades as well, $20 for their regular blades and $30 for their coated blades.

FedEx just dropped off my first ZT knife. Can't say much about it as far as use goes yet but it feels great in hand and is buttery smooth. I have a strong feeling that this is probably one of the most well made folders I've ever carried and that's not meant to take anything away from the Blur or the Grip, those are great knives especially at their price points.

Here is the ZT 561 next to a Kershaw Blur and Benchmade Griptilian.
