Here are what the guys at ARFcom are doing to their toys. Thanks to them, stocks and rail systems for airsoft are really hard to come by. Good thing I still have a few airsoft connections. :D Classic Army stocks are near impossible to find for under $60. All stocks pictured are Classic Army brand except for the PDW style side folder which is an ICS.

Hey Snake(best game evar ;))

Do you know if the fore grips are also compatible, could I slap on a G&P front end w/ flashlight?

I remember something was said about it, but I couldn't remember if it was or was not. Thanks!

Solidsnake87

From experience with fake-can equipped airsoft MP5s, the lighted fore ends will not work unless a slot is cut out from the underside of the can. I plan on doing this for my GSG. I prefer the look of the surefire lighted end better than any rail device on an MP5.

I'd stick to brands that I know work for certain. Classic Army seems to be the winner. If CA works, then TM, ICS, and most G&G should work. However, G&G stocks will NOT work. (Note this is G&G Airsoft not GG&G) I don't have too much experience with G&P stuff. If you live near an airsoft extreme you can drop by with your gun and they are happy to help. People buy stuff for their real steel there all the time like rails, panels, lights/lasers, genuine eotechs/aimpoint, ect.....

I like the CA B&T UMP stock, but does anyone know what the overall length is with it attached & folded? Needs to be greater than 26" folded to be CA legal.

According to the guys on ARFcom, the rifle is of legal length with the stock removed. In terms of cali, any foldable/adjustable stock is ok on rimfire as long as its not under the length requirements.

+1 on this too.

I don't want to get the stock and then find out I can't put it on because it's under the CA legal overall length (26" folded).

Ur welcome to try that. Not all airsofts are built the same way. That one is definitely not a high end model. All of the high end models like Classic Army, Tokyo Marui, ICS, are built using fully interchangeable parts. This will most likely not work. Moreover, for the $100 you'd be wasting on that gun you could easily pick up a Classic Army or Tokyo Marui airsoft stock online for $40-60.

look here for your goodies.

Airsoft parts are great on guns if you know which companies to buy from.

Most popular MP5/HK parts companies include:
ICS
Classic Army
G&G
Hurricane

All these companies are top notch and are for the serious airsofter and they WILL cost you a pretty pretty penny :D I would know  These companies make real parts from top of the line steel, and sometimes aircraft grade metals.

There are also many other aftermarket companies. Try to go for the Japanese made parts though. I would know after all, I go to play airsoft in Japan every year. Plus, the Japanese are the people who invented airsoft, contrary to popular imagination.

I just picked up my GSG today. I'm impressed with the quality of every thing. I put 2K rounds through it today with no problems. This is one heafty and reliable piece of gear. It hits those rimfire casings HARD! lol. I can confirm that the stock is the only thing about the gun that is complete crap. It came apart just putting it on my rifle. They must have gotten a deal on Elmer's glue to hold this thing together. A better glue would have made people happy. I can also say from experience that the airsoft stock are of SIGNIFICANT higher quality than this POS. I'm going to drop by my local AEX and pick up a nicer stock when I get a chance. The standard issue stock is perfect if its re-sealed with epoxy and filled with an expanding foam. I'm using that set-up currently until I swap stocks.

Can you give us the dimensions on the GSG from the rear of the receiver without the stock? Wondering if the length with the folding stock will pass CA laws.

Solidsnake87
02-28-2008, 6:13 PM
The length from the end of the can to the end of the receiver (with no stock attached) is 24 inches exactly. In other words, a collapsing stock may be the only legal means of a shortening stock.

I'm going by airsoft extreme tonight. I'm hoping to get the B&T side folder. I'll bring a tape and see what is legal. I'll report back to you guys when I know more later tonight.

Paid $500 for mine at the Cold War Shooters shop in SoCal (in Highland, off the 210 in San Berdo County).

I believe most FFLs are currently sold out.
Next batch of GSG-5 rifles are expected to arrive from Germany around mid/late-March.
Unknown when factory 10 round magazines will be available in the USA.

GSG is working on a G36 and AKM .22LR clone. Don't expect it for another year or so.

Also, looks like GSG is puting priority on making a AKM .22LR clone over the G36.
In fact, they got Mikhail T. Kalashnikov's approval to go ahead and do so.

Took my new GSG to the range on Sunday, shot about 400 rounds and it was flawless! And surprisingly accurate right out of the box, sights were dead on. The best $499 I've spent. Way to fun.

I also thought the finish was as nice as my Bobcat.

ROFLMFAO :D

If they did, would the foward folding piston grip be legal, even though its a .22?

I think we should send a whole lot of recommendation messages, asking them to make a MP7 model.

I would buy 2, not for each hand, but one for the range and the other for SHFT/TEOTWAWKI scenarios/hunting :43:

2.) Magazines? Do they make 10 rounders? Or did you have it shipped disassembled and pin it?
