I have a few railroad spikes that i would like to either have made into knives or trade a few for a custom knife. anyone have a lead on someone who is willing to do this type of work.

FYI I also have access to model T leaf springs.

Railroad spikes are low carbon (mild steel) (yes, even the ones marked high carbon). They will not hold an edge and will nick or deform easily. The Model T springs would make a great knife, machete, axe, or any tool if hardened properly.

Not sure it is the kind of project one contracts out. Maybe if you know someone who is getting into smithing. Or find a smith at a fair or festival and ask him to do it there and then.
