Unless it is a "named" rifle I don't see why not. Should be legal.

remember kiddies, SB23 applies to semi automatic centerfire rifles. Bolt action is good to go.
I would love that rifle if it was in .308
.338 Lapua is a bit too expensive for my taste.

Why does it seem like 1 person per day asks if bolt action rifles are legal in CA?
Do we really need to put a sticky on the top of this forum that says, "Before you ask, YES, bolt action rifles are legal in CA" ?

SRS 243WIN $3275 (24" fluted barrel)

It is designed to quickly convert to 300WM and .308, which is excellent.

It is a very nice design. The price is comparable to other high quality rifles with similar features.
We are awaiting more extensive accuracy and durability testing.

Why would you want or need a quad-rail on a bolt action? I personally do not care for the appearance........at all.

Top rails yes
bottom to mount a bi-pod yes
side rails not so much
better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it

^^^seriosly that is expensive as hell!!
But it is pretty pimpy though
rksimple
02-25-2008, 6:43 PM
Its expensive if you're used to buying normal, off the shelf rifles. Compare it to a custom, a sako, or an AI, and its not so bad. I love the barrel change feature.
J_Rock
02-25-2008, 6:50 PM
Seriously an AI .338 will cost about $6k. Compared to that this rifle isnt that expensive.

What about the 510 DTC Bohica uppers I've seen. I think those are pretty "evil"...still not sure about how well they shoot. It just seemed like a good idea.

For $4750 you can get a .338 LM with a .308 a conversion. Thats like having 2 rifles for less than price of a Sako or AICS .338
I better start saving now

Looks inconvient to use.
I'm sitting here pretending to be in firing position and moving my hands/arms to cycle the bolt... 2 things: 1. I don't know if I can move my right hand back far enough; 2. I can't see if the shell is ejected and a new one is properly loaded.

this isnt the first bullpup bolt action you know. to get the shorter OAL you need to sacrifice some ergonomics.

I'm a sucker for anything bullpup.... not sure why, just am.
Ok the savings begins, and I told my better half that I was done for a while :)

It warms my heart to finally see some goverment expenditure that gives good bang for the buck. It looks/shoots like a acurate rifle.

These guys asked to borrow my DSR for T&E(COPY) so I know for a fact this was copied from the DSR. At least they have the right scope sitting on it and not some POS USO. I only hope they made it lighter as my DSR was a boat anchor and it was in 308. I can't imagine what it would have weighed in 338.
