Does anyone own MP5 style 9mm, made by Cohaire Arms, that would recommend buying it.

Got one from coldwarshooters. The whole family loves to shoot it. It's my wifes and six year old daughters favorite. Have about 500 rounds through it with no problems. I would buy it if you have the cash.

im not a fan of any todd bailey deal but that said... they are really the only option... i have seen issues as a fairly regular rate. would it stop me from owning one, probably not. im a tinkerer though.

I own one. No major issues, except the 10rd mags are less than stellar and I'm not a fan of the raddlock. Put on a wing and go detachable.

If I were you I would wait about 6-8 months and get a Vector.

Is Vector really going to produce a 9mm? That rumor has been going around for quite a while? Has anything more substantive been released?

My crystal ball says 8 months until they start announcing, maximum, for the 9mm.

Are the Vectors better? And in what ways?

None so far. Just sucks we can't put 30 round mags in it. And having to use a bullet button to drop the mags. The ten round mags can be fussy at times, just make sure the cocking handle is pulled back before you insert your mags.

You CAN use 30's if you just put a wing between the PG and the stock. That's what I'm planning to do now... I put the Radd as a temp fix so I could shoot it the day I got it.

If you guys want an EBR 9mm, I have a REALLY cool one to show you...and best of all it takes the U15 stock.

I'll post pics and data later tonight, remind me if i forget.

Who sells the 'wing'?

A 9mm AR is fine and dandy, but it is no substitute for those who lust after an MP5 platform :D

How do you figure a 30 rd mag is legal? Are we considering that it was preban?

Yes. I inferred from his post he has them.

I can't find the pic I got from another user here - tiger222 (good guy) of his with the wing. It's simply a piece of Kydex you wrap around, trim to shape to keep your hand from going between the PG and stock.

I'll drop him a PM and see if he can oblige.

You can always make a wing and attach it to the stock.. it's what I did and only $40 to replace the stock.. Can be replaced easily when I goto Vegas also..

I bought an extra trigger group and stock, too. Works well. The mod he shows is completely reversible -- nothing is permanent.

If you get a lower with a detachable grip (like the original MP5s) it becomes even easier to switch.

Does anyone know the correct way to manipulate kydex, and a good source to pick some up?

Was it- heat in boiling water, then bend to shape? I learned to cast thumbhole plugs- this shouldn't be much tougher :D

What did you use to cast the thumbhole plugs?

This stuff called 'monster cast'. You can get it in black or flesh color. There's a movie effects supply shop in Burbank that sells it (not cheap- maybe $50 for 2 quarts). It's a 2-part liquid with the consistency of syrup. But when you mix them, you have about 30 seconds to fill you mold or it goes rock solid :D

I thought you can have high cap mags in ca because its a .22 and also removable mag? Or does the pistol grip mess things up.

I had a mini range report on it on THR, but that site is down for the next few days. I haven't had any problems with it. Any issues in previous iterations from TB have all been worked out it seems.

As great as it is, I'm actually considering selling it. I'm glad I got the chance to own one in all its un-neutered glory but I just prefer the AR platform much better so I hardly ever shoot this.

Pistol grip has nothing to do with the illegality of the hi cap mag. You can have a hi-cap tube mag on a .22LR, like a Marlin 60, but detachable hi-cap mags are illegal to purchase unless you're military or law enforcement.

This thread is about the 9mm CA-94 MP5 centerifre rifle and not the GSG-5 .22LR rimfire rifle.

You cannot have a pistol grip on removable magazine centerfire rifles.
