I looked at the DOJ regs but couldn't find an answer. Are tube magazines attached to a .22 legal if you can load over 10 rounds in it? I think they are but want a second opinion.

Yes, they're legal. Even higher than ten round, centerfire tubular magazine guns are legal in Ca.

Here's the PC on it.

CA Penal Code 12020(c)
(25) As used in this section, "large-capacity magazine" means any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, but shall not be construed to include any of the following:
(A) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.
(B) A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.
(C) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

Yes, but only if it came with a factory fitted 250 jillion feet long tube-fed magazine ;)

How many centerfire rounds can you fit given the dimensions? It's not really a lot with currently available ammo (typically 4-10 depending on caliber and barrel/tube mag length).

Don't forget the jillion foot long barrel to support said mag ;)

If a 1000 jillion = 1 bajillion. 1 centerfire round is 3" = 4 rds per foot.
1 bajillion rds will fit a 250 feet long mag tube.

For .22LR the tube would only need to be 83.4 jillion feet long!
