View Full Version : Need a Knife Maker

I've got a set of 6 wood-handled steak knives that were given to my wife and I as a wedding present over 30 years ago. They need new wood. Personally, I would just throw them away and buy a new set, but my wife loves these knives. So, I thought that I would try and find someone who could make new wood handles for them. The handles are held on with 3 rivets with wood on each side. If someone is interested in tackling this project, I'll take some pics and email them to you. I'm located in Novato, CA and am willing to travel almost anywhere in the SFBayArea. Thanks for reading this. And yes, they do go in the dishwasher.

Just an FYI,wood and dishwasher don't mix very well. Epoxy starts to loosen at the rivets and wood starts to warp. Most knives that are dishwasher safe are handled with synthetic materials. Good luck.

If you can't find someone here, try over at www.thehighroad.org and go to the non firearm forum. Plenty of guys there that can possibly help you out.
