I was contemplating what my next firearm purchase should be when I noticed something disturbing about my collection. I have no 22s. So I went down to the gun shop and bought my very first 22.

Picked up a plain jane Ruger 10/22. With the way ammo prices have been going up it will be nice to go out and blast a couple hundred rounds of 22 ammo.

Can't wait to get it. Are there any aftermarket "must haves" to put on my new Ruger?

Build it however you want, replace the stock and barrel for a new look. You can get a drop-in hammer that will improve the trigger pull. Extended mag-releases are nice in addition to a modified bolt-release.

Wow, that's a good price. I paid 200 for the one I just got. At 179.99 maybe I should get another one.

I work firearms for The Sports Authority.

We only carry long guns and only have about around 30 on hand at any given time. Recently we started doing special orders again. Basically cost + 15% + free shipping.

I believe the normal price for the 10/22 is 189.99.

Only bad part of our company is the 11 day wait period. Unnecessary but unavoidable with our corporate policy. :(

10/22 is a solid rifle. I've fired literally thousands upon thousands of rounds through it and maintained properly it if very reliable. With a scope I'm still able to put sub inch groups at 5 and that is the original standard scope. Only thing I've done to it is changed the stock to a Tapco T6, which is more for looks than anything. But when time comes to buy replacement parts you'll be glad you got a 10/22.

The thing I like most about my 10-22 is the extended mag release. To me this is a must have.

Since we are stuck in this god forsaken state that has so many rediculous laws and regulations on what you can do to your rifles, I had fun with my fiance's 10/22. Tapco t6 stock with forward grip, red dot sight, etc....Thinking about getting antoher one for myself with the same set up since I still got some standard cap mags from my old 10/22.

First post! I'm hoping I post the pic correctly. I am in the middle of building up my 10/22. So far I have a hougue overmold stock, tactical solutions barrel, extended mag release, auto bolt release, and a few other goodies. I am waiting for my leupold rimfire scope and some titanium goodies for the trigger group that I ordered. I am new to building rifles and now realize that what I spent on this I could have built an AR. O well. Going to go buy a OLL this weekend and start project #2
