i live in so cal and shoot at angeles shooting range. they are pretty strict regarding their magnetic ammo restrictions.
anyone know who sells the wolf yellow box (brass FMJ) ammo?
any other decent, preferably inexpensive, non magnetic ammo?

wolf yellow box is hard to find now, and is getting expensive.
federal 7.62x39 cost twice as much as wolf yellow box.
if this steel jacket BS continues in So. Cali, I would rather drive to North, Nevada or Arizona to shoot.

Wolf is no longer making yellow box (copper jacketed) ammo!

all of wolfs ammo is now bi-metal jacketed.

here is the cheapest range legal and reloadable ammo you can find.

$173 for 500 rounds still seems steep...
wolf black box or golden tiger are less than that for 1000 rds.
looks like the range is becoming less and less of an option.
i got screwed and bought 440 rounds of mil surp 7.62x54r for my nagant that i can't shoot at the range either...
any of you guys know where the nearest rifle friendly part of the desert is?
i am in the san fernando valley.

I've been paying about $200 for 1,000 Tiger and I've seen people buying it up at $240 regularly and $270 sometimes.

I read an article in the SF Chronicle that claimed all of California's criminals go to Nevada for their gun needs. I gotta guess they meant law abiding gun owners have found Nevada to be the only viable place to use their firearms.

prices might seem steep, but with wolf not making the range legal yellow box ammo anymore, there arent too many choices. So either buy brass cased range legal ammo, or reload.

+1. I have a ton of Wolf for my Mosin and SKS that I bought in a fit of enthusiastic ignorance.

Another non-magnetic ammo option:

They will ship to SoCal.

If you are willing to shoot indoors, you can shoot all the bi-metal projectile ammo you want at the Agoura Range and Shooter's Paradise in Oxnard. They don't care.
