looking at this PSA that i ordered.....can't tell if the endcap is round or triangle.

this would affect what kind of handguard i can put on it

thoughts?

Look circular to me. Shoot them an email and ask.

this makes no sense

http://www.del-ton.com/Handguards_p/hg1012.htm

Says "accept triangle end caps"

but in this frame

http://www.del-ton.com/AR_15_Mid_Length_Handguards_s/173.htm

says "accepts round end caps"

which one? both?

Haha looks like a typo. As far as I know they take different hand guards. Only dept with circular ones but my buddy's 20" BCM had a triangle and he had to find one that fit a triangle cap.

guess i might have to just go MOE since they work on both...

Anyone know for sure if triangle and circular take different handguards? Now I'm interested.

The mid length PSA I have that I pictured in your other thread came with a triangle. The upper I got also had that forend shown in the picture but actually came with one that tapered slightly going towards the muzzle.

oh good.

guess i'll wait and see.

i don't like the fat M4 handguards, but at the same time i don't want to buy a magpul one, because i'll feel i have to magpul it out completely.

My LBK is just normal M4 stock and A2 grip, and want to keep it "simple" so if it comes with the "skinnier" profile ones, all the better.

If you don't get the "skinny" profile one I'll send you mine. It's just collecting dust.Lol

that's awesome

but i've read that if the endcap is round, you're stuck.

i guess midlength is supposed to be triangle as the standard, so mid-length guards typically are made to fit triangular caps.

there's a few threads on arfcom about people with round mid lengths that bought hg's from RRA and they don't fit.

thanks a lot though, that is surely awesome

Every non-free floating handguard I've come across can take either round or triangular

In general, carbine gassed barrels have round handguard caps and midlength or rifle have triangular handguard caps.
Most snap-in handguards are designed to work with both types of handguard caps.

^ Yup, as Randall said, round ones are for carbine lenght gas and over that uses the triangular ones.
