First of all, its a flash hider, not hinder.

Have you read the FAQ? That upper is perfectly legal by itself, and when mated to a lower with a fixed 10 round magazine it would be compliant. The only thing with that upper is the FH would need to be permanently attached to bring the barrel length over 16". I had one just like that on my XM17 build, 'cept in 223

by the way it looks, it looks like a FH. That upper is legal as it stands without a lower but when you attach it to a lower with the accompanying Tacticool features, it would be a AW. Remember the rule, Tacticool feature w/ fixed 10rd = ok, NO Tacticool Feature, Open mag, Pre 2000k hicap mags = ok. Both must be over all length 30"+. Barrel over 16".

The same place that they buy "Muzzle Breaks" and 30 round "clips" for their AR's.

That's that Oly set up. I was looking at that one, too.;)
I just haven't figured out how to do a bullet button for the mag release on the conversion block.

The flash supp. could also be sleeved. I have a 45ACP verison of the same upper with a sleeved flash unit. Legal in CA on featureless build if its sleeved.

FYI: sleeving is the prcess of installing a solid metal sleeve inside the muzzle attachement so that the flash supp. is rendered inoperable. It is usually soldered into place to make it a perma mod. Some set ups like this one sold during the federal AW ban (no expired) were sold "sleeved" from Oly to pass the ban rules but keep the "look"
