just wanted to know if it would be legal to bring a bushmaster 450 with a 16inch barrel into the state to hog hunt.

Not if it's on a Bushmaster lower that's NOT a Carbon 15 lower. If it's a Bushmaster XM-15 lower, it's banned by name and classified as an "assault weapon."

Not if it has a standard mag release button and ANY of the so-called "evil" features California detests, such as a pistol grip, flash hider or collapsible stock, regardless of the brand of lower it's built on.

If your lower is "off list" and if your 16" barrel is a bull barrel or has a muzzle brake and if you have a Monster Man grip with a standard buttstock or a U-15 stock,

If your lower is "off list" and you have a 10 round or less mag fixed in the magwell with a Prince50, Bullet Button or other such device. . . .

Then you should be good to go and the hogs better run scared! :D

Read up on the California law before you decide what to do . . . the cost of being wrong can be very painful.

The receiver is legal. The rifle needs to be SB23 compliant though.

Does it have a pistol grip and detachable magazine? If so it's illegal to bring it here. See the "CA AW ID Flowchart" on the top navbar.
