Of course, this was not in PRK. I offer this article as evidence to those on the fence that CCW's really do save lives and reduce crime (or at least they reduce the criminal population on the streets). Hopefully, in 4 or so years, CalNRA will be strong enough, organized enough, and disciplined enough to push for "Shall Issue" here. Until then, remember these events to motivate you to get more people on board with us.

The last sentence in the below article is such a joke. Nothing cops will do will improve shopper safety as much as what that CCW'er did. Hopefully the BG did have an accomplice who will go back to his "peers" (aka "homies") and tell them what happens when you try armed robbery on Texans!

TX has executed over 530 crooks in the time that CA has executed just over a dozen. In Texas, if the "victims" don't kill you, the LEOs will track you down and then the state will get its chance to kill you. That's the way it should be in CA: a two front war on violent criminals. In CA, the condemned are twice as likely to die of natural causes while waiting on Death Row than they are to be executed! In FL, it takes 1 1/2 years to go from sentencing to execution. In CA, it takes over 1 1/2 decades! Time to streamline and speed up death penalty appeals as per state Senator Ashburn's previously proposed legislation (http://republican.sen.ca.gov/opeds/18/oped3047.asp).

And while we've got a half-way decent US Sup Ct (Roberts, Alito, Scalia, Thomas), we ought to attack the Furman v. Georgia (1972) decision that started requiring "special circumstances" (multiple murder, murder by lying in wait, murder of a LEO, murder w/rape, murder w/sodomy, etc.) to exist for a murderer to be subject to the death penalty. Time to get back to executing people for just plain murder. You illegally take someone's life, you forfeit your own -- "fair and square."

Man Kills Attacker In Grocery Store Parking Lot

HOUSTON -- A robbery victim turned the tables on his attacker in a grocery store parking lot late Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said a gunman approached a man as he got out of his vehicle at the HEB store at Gulfgate on the South Loop East near the Gulf Freeway at about 10 p.m.

The gunman demanded money from the man, police said. The man decided to fight back.

"The complainant was able to draw his own weapon and shot and killed the suspect," Sgt. Robert Odom said.

The gunman died at the scene. Detectives said he may have had an accomplice.

"The suspect attempted to get into a car but fell out the door," Odom said. "He didn't get all the way in, so we don't know if this guy was involved or if it was a situation where the suspect just tried to jump in his car."

A 24-year-old man was later detained and questioned, police said.

Investigators said several people witnessed the shooting.

The man was taken in for questioning. Police said he had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon.

The case will be referred to the Harris County grand jury.

Police said patrols in the area would be increased to keep shoppers safe.

No need, just issue more CWW permits.

Maybe they meant keep shooters/car-jackers/robbers safe;) I agree more CCW's is the answer. If the police step up patrols in this area that will leave other areas under patrolled.
