I have seen numerous pictures of .22 rifles with Thumbhole stocks (Dragunov style for example). If a Ruger 10/22's factory stock is replaced with a Dragunov style, does it become illegal in California? But, then, I was told that rimfire rifles are exempt... would anyone please clarify.... now that my son had a look at my PSL, he was his Ruger 10/22 with a thumbhole stock... kids these days!!!

You may build your rimfire rifle with "evil features" (pistol grip, thumbhole stock, flash hider, adjustable stock, flare launcher, vertical forward grip, etc). However, it must still meet federal minimum length requirements (26" OAL and 16" barrel) which should not be a problem in your case.

A "CLIP" is that thing girls wear in their hair. A magazine is that thing you put in you rifle, unless your loading from the top. If you had hi cap magazines BEFOFE 2000 you can use them in your new 10/22 rifle just fine.:D

I you already have hi caps (standard caps for the nazi's), you can use them to your hearts content. If not, 10 it is.
