I assume you knife enthusiasts are already Knife Rights (www.kniferights.org) members .... ;)

So I figured you might be interested in adding a banner/button to your sig lines to get others to join.
See: http://www.kniferights.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=37&Itemid=1

If that's the case, ck out the thread I started over at:

Saw this in the news thread about the stabbing today.

Couple of questions/comments.

Are they active in CA? Not that I'm against helping federally and with other states, just curious.

The page to join online doesn't look secure (https etc), should I be concerned?

And that site needs a major update. If it weren't for a personal recommendation from paladin, I probably wouldn't have gone past the front page and or considered joining.

Re. what I bolded above: Knife Rights released a video called "Knife Wars" (ala Star Wars opening sequence), where they list all they've accomplished to date (2014 Dec). For such a young & small organization, they've had a great impact IMO and are worthy of support.

The NRA in its push to get the entire US to go "Shall Issue" Right-to-Carry started with "low hanging fruit" (i.e., passed Shall Issue in the easier to win states prior to tackling the tougher ones), so I really don't blame Knife Rights for adopting the same approach. To me, the faster they win in other states, the sooner they'll bring the fight here too.

It sucks being in CA (other than jobs, weather, outdoor activities, etc), but at least with the NRA and SAF/CGF and now, Knife Rights, we have hope. :)

They have a list of their current legislative fights around the nation (in a yellow box) on their homepage at:
http://www.kniferights.org/

Be sure to tell others about Knife Rights and what they're doing and encourage them to join/support! (fwiw No, I don't get ANYTHING for supporting/promoting them.)

For those who haven't seen this, here's a map showing the long, hard fought battle to win Shall Issue in America.

I find it so weird that all over the world and many places here knife laws don't allow you to carry something that has been carried by people for thousands of years.

Yeah, as weird as to be born into an America where "the chief law enforcement officers of a county" (i.e., the sheriffs), in its most populous and prosperous state do not issue CCWs for "self-defense" even though they've sworn an oath to support & defend the Constitution and its Amendments (in the BoR).

And that's not the extent of their own lawlessness!

We have a huge "standing army," we require state issued "tissue" to RKBA, we do not deport illegal aliens, and we've just reached $18T ($18,000,000,000,000.00) in national debt....

We are headed for bankruptcy and no one is talking about it. Obama's recovery is nothing but paying for stuff with our national "credit card" (debt) and then saying, "look how prosperous we are"....

There will be NO MONEY for Boomers when they retire. If we cut off "the welfare class" (yes, that's code), they will burn our cities. So Boomers will be given the Kevorkian option, to "not burden the children." LOL!
