Just got back from the Wal-Mart in Milpitas. They had the Winchester White Box 100 pack 9mm for $15.72 a box. Considering the Big 5 in Fremont had the 50 pack box for $12 I consider this an awesome deal. I picked up 1000 rounds. They still had a whole lot more.

They also had the WWB .45acp 100 pack for $26.72. I found that to be a pretty good deal too.

I was also there this morning and picked up some ammo. .223 UMC $7.56/20, .45 WWB still $28.98/100 and .45 Winchester 230 Gr JHP $23.58/50.

How can you tell which CHINA-MARTS have ammo?

My local Richmond and Martinez a no go.

Vallejo was really sad looking with lots of empty shelf space (some time ago).

Any intel on a CHINA-MART near the Eastbay that has this stuff?

That 9mm is a great price considering that even Milwall the infamous gun show ammo seller has the cheapest being their reloads at 500 for $75, though you get a neato plastic ammo box with it.:D

Walmart has a deal with Alameda and Contra Costa Counties , more stores in exchange for not selling guns and ammo in all of their stores in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

The Milpitas Walmart had WWB 100pack in .40SW. I don't really remember what the price on that was, because I don't own any .40 so it didn't register much. I'm probably going back tomorrow to stock up more. I'll try to price it for you.

What were they priced at in Duarte?

Is this considered a sale, or a drop in their "everyday low prices"? Any idea on when the prices will go back up?

Their prices are back to normal and there really isn't a way to find out when they will drop the price.

Normal price is $15.72 or so as others have stated which is standard at most Walmarts now. Durate occasionally drops their price and I guess recently the 9mm 100rnd boxes dropped to about $12.

I have only bought ammo at the Durate Walmart once at a sale price when .40s&w dropped to $16 from $21 and even then I could only afford a case and a few boxes.

I bet the boxes have old SKU's which dictate the price. Once they get the replacement ammo back in, they will have the new SKU's and thus the cost will effectively go up.

If not, and the price is $12.xx for 100 rds of white box 9mm, someone please buy me 1000 rds and I'll pay you back. :D

Only been to Cabela's in Glendale, AZ. So far the cheapest 9mm I got was Sellier & Belliot 115 FMJs for $7.99 per 50. Worked flawlessly on my Sig. Winchester WWBs were $9.99 per 50.

I'll be in Phoenix this weekend, though one will probably get a better deal on ammo going to the Glendale gun show this weekend. Sucks that I'll miss that. :(

How can you tell which CHINA-MARTS have ammo?

My local Richmond and Martinez a no go.

Vallejo was really sad looking with lots of empty shelf space (some time ago).

Any intel on a CHINA-MART near the Eastbay that has this stuff?

That 9mm is a great price considering that even Milwall the infamous gun show ammo seller has the cheapest being their reloads at 500 for $75, though you get a neato plastic ammo box with it.:D

i wish walmart could sell chinese ammo

Let's see. The president wrecked the economy! First off I didn't know it was wrecked and I didn't know that the president created the mergers and consolidations within the arms industry along with worldwide consumption of raw materials which:
1. helped eliminate competition and fixed pricing (Cerberus & FN)
2. see China,India, south America, Asia,Russia etc as your direct competitor

I'm sure the president wants to secure his place in history as facing international terrorism along with causing an economic slow down in the strongest economy on the world. :kest:

I personally fully support the actions of the current president in response to the 9/11 attack on the US. If such actions were not taken, I argue that the economy would have been in much worst shape, and we would be suffering more attacks in the US. I also argue that the oppositions to these actions, and the negative press given, is nothing short of giving comfort and aid to the enemy of this nation.

I believe both democratic presidential candidates have said that if he/shoe becomes the Commander in Chief, they would send troops to Iraq to keep Al Qaeda from building a base there, while at the same time bashing the current president for doing so. That's some of the most dishonest/disingenuous double talk I've ever heard.

People who blame the current president on $4 gas, and the slight down turn in the economy should go and research lives of people in eastern Europe during and shortly after WWII, and the lives of people in China from the 1890's (British defeated the Chinese military roughly around that time) through the Japanese occupation (Rape of Nanking rings a bell?). If you have time, look further back to nations who have lost wars, and see how their people faired. A pattern will emerge if you look at enough of these examples. Now put yourself in those situations and imagine yourself living in that environment. $4 gallon gasoline will be the least of your worries !!!

History indicates that the most militarily powerful nation in the world is the most economically prosperous. The most powerful nations in the world in known history, with the exception of the USA, also took land, enslaved the people, and raided their conquered nations for wealth and culture. In some cases, the conquered people were wiped out completely, women, children, and all. There are example of nations committing mass suicide just prior to being conquered, rather then subjecting themselves to the misery of slavery (a much worst situation than most of us can imagine today).

This nation has done a lot for its people. And frankly, a lot of the people have acquired a mindset that they are entitled to it without certain sacrifices or elbow grease. $4 gallon gasoline, slight strain on the economy, etc, is OK with me if it's necessary as a result of asserting our military might to remind the enemies of this great nation that picking on the alpha lion in the jungle has its consequences.

It's not been that long since the famous Kennedy speech "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country". If $4 gallon gasoline is that big a sacrifice that you can not do that for your country, may I suggest moving to Venezuela? I believe gasoline there is well less than $1 per gallon; housing prices should be way below California; and their president shares your view of our president.

Yea when we went last Thursday it was 19ish pre tax for 9mm WWB, and 29.88 for .45ACP at the Walmart at Milpitas. They have a sign for the .45ACP WWB for 26.xx but they never have that one in stock. Funny thing is, I bought a box of the 26.xx version and it has the same box and UPC as the 29.88 one, I asked them about it once and they wouldn't price match it or fix it, whatever rings up in their register is what they are going to charge you. No amount of arguing is going to change that.

Good question. Back in the day, .45 used to be packaged in individual 50 rd trays like the .40S&W and .38 spl. I hate the current loose round packaging on the .45. You'll have to inspect the top layer, it sometimes has glue stuck on the cartrige.

I think half the reason for the price increases has been because metal prices have shot through the roof. Brass and bronze scrap has doubled in the last year. Copper has been climbing pretty steady for a while now.

I think it's the rising metal prices that are affecting ammo prices. I don't think war comes into play because it isn't cutting into consumer demand yet. (think WWII rationing and Rosie the Riveter)

This location no longer carries ammo.

The one in Paramount doesn't carry ammo, but the one in Lakewood does. I went today and bought 4 cases (10 boxes a case) of WWB 9mm 100rd Value Pack @ $16 a box. It took 30 mins to flag down an employee to ring it up.

My question is if this Wal-Mart ALWAYS has them at this price?

NO. Actually the good ol WAL-MART INCREASE!!!! their prices which makes my head on fire:mad: because after purchasing almost 10K of 9mm ammunitions they jump from and i repeat they jump the prices on 9mm from $12.50 (twelve dollars and fifty cents to a WHOPPING $16.00 per 100 rounds) which compare to any gun store is still a STEAL!!!! some charges over their NECKS!!! for a wallet breaking of $29.99cents per 100 rounds on winchester 9mm 115gr.

I will tell you this guys, price on GAS maybe going down for now but not the AMMUNITION, so if i were you get it while we are still ahead! WAL-MART is the place to go. WAL-MART between Lakewood and PARAMOUNT along CARSON.

PEACE to ALL!!!

The Wal-Mart on Carson and Paramount seems to be slow at adopting price increases. The 100 packs of 9mm were at $12.50 while other Wal-Marts had all moved to $16 / box or $18 / box. Now all the Wal-marts have them at $20 / box, while the Carson Wal-Mart has them at $16.

And people at Wal-Mart in Lakewood knows me very well and i can easily tell them to set me aside another 10K of ammunition on 9mm caliber or 40 cal or even .45 cal. That is why this is my store when it comes to AMMO. Few people knows this place and what i hate the most are those people who RE-SELLS THEM!!!!!!:mad::mad: THIS IS NOT RIGHT! I use my ammunition for target practice and not by profiting or cheating others by re-selling them even a few bucks. I also bought my .308 ammo in that store, all JHP 9mm luger and JHP .40 and .45 acp for which i already have and can deploy an army to iraq(jk). Anyway, its true they have some good Remington JHP 9mm , 40 cal, 45 acp and 38spl semi-JHP. Now that i have the Kel-Tec 223 i will go to Wal-Mart right now and purchase at least 3000 rounds and this weekend up to BURRO CANYON!!!! YAHOOOOO!!!!! to try and put a 3K load on this puppy. Good Luck on getting your CHEAPEST AMMO!!!

LET ME KNOW IF A STORE CAN BEAT WAL-MART AMMO PRICE in LAKEWOOD and PARAMOUNT along CARSON!!!

You don't totally own it. I got a rangefinder there this year that was $25 from an original price of $180! Clays were $4 a box also. Strangely I don't remember this location ever selling guns even when they were still being sold at other CA Walmarts.

Well, before sir, they were selling firearms you can still go to their website and still find some lever actions and high caliber rifles that you thought still valid but its not. Guys from Wal-Mart told me that license was remove from them for selling firearms but can sell and carry ammunitions. Now they're good carrying BB's instead and paintball, what makes me happy is the prices on their AMMO! whether its 9, 40, 45, 410 gauge, 12 gauge, 20 gauge, 00buck, JHP or not, 223, 30-06, 30-30, 308 and many others including .22 WAL-MART is THE BEST but only in CARSON nothing ELSE but LAKEWOOD and PARAMOUNT ALONG CARSON. AGAIN, no one BUT no one can BEAT WAL-MART and the good news here is im 5minutes away from them.

Are there more .45's available? I called early this week and the helpful() associate said they only had 1 box left. How often do they restock?

I honestly hate wal mart. I know sometimes there prices are lower, but they do not support the 2nd amendment. They are a purely for profit store. I prefer to load my own and buy my supplies at local gun shops. Wal mart is bad for business. To save 3.00 a box of ammo and then your local gun shop goes out of business, you think there ammo will be the cheapest in town then? I would suggest you rethink buying from them...

Right  The money they (*some* gun shops) don't make on ammo more than make up for $100+ online FFL transfers! StockAde in Westminster (nearest to me) wanted to charge $150 for onilne FFL, so yes, I don't care if they go out of business.

For me it came down to where the closest place was that had prices within a few bucks per box of online (sans $20 shipping or whatever the hell). Closest place had a sale sign, but nothing left under it (owner didn't seem to realize he was out until I told him). I went down the block and paid about what I would have if I had wasted gas to one of the WalMarts that stock ammo. If I lived within a couple miles of one, I'd check the local shops, but WalMart still would probably be the best deal, so I'd buy there.

Wally Worlds between Duarte and Rancho Cucamonga seem to have the price locked to $19.xx. Been that way for the better part of a year if I recall correctly. Hope this helps anyone...
