Don't think this is a dupe (I tried searching).

Looks like a 23year old in NYC is now in jail after checking his firearms at the airport. He was carrying handguns, "high capacity" magazines and painted rifles, which apparently covered the serial number.

One of the weapons was loaded, which was not a smart move on his behalf.

Here is the CNN article about it. (http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/26/us/new-york-jfk-flight-guns/?iref=obinsite)

Reminds me of a few years back when someone was arrested over weapons when they ended up in NY during an unscheduled layover.

So he broke multiple laws, including trying to check a loaded weapon. Not sure what the point is, but this guy makes it tougher for the rest of us when he does something like this.

People are just stupid. I checked a pistol through LAX this morning and no one blinked an eye....

read the full article, they called painting his firearm "defacing" and they called having ammo near the weapon being "loaded". The only law that he may get stuck on is the magazine one....

O yeah, dupe :dupe::hide:

You forgot the "bringing weapons to a TSA checkpoint" one.

You forgot the "bringing weapons to a TSA checkpoint" one.

That's only an issue in NY. What he forgot was that he was in NY to begin with...

Can't bring weapons, let alone check them onto a plane, in NYC. Loaded, unloaded, locked, cased, etc. Doesn't matter. It's legal in most other places. But in NYC, it will get you thrown in jail.
