In an October report of its September receipts, the National Rifle Association of America Political Victory Fund (NRA PAC) showed that it spent $466,273 to highlight VA gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe's (D) war on law-abiding gun owners.
As Breitbart News reported on September 23, McAuliffe plans to implement Colorado-style gun control measures if elected to be Virginia's governor. These will include--but will not be limited to--a ban on "high capacity magazines," the implementation of universal background checks, and a one-gun-a-month purchasing limit.
If McAuliffe is elected and gets his way on universal background checks, there will be no more private sales in Virginia; no more selling a gun to a neighbor, a co-worker, or a friend without asking the government's permission via a background check. This will give the government precise knowledge of every gun sale in the state and make it possible for them to enforce a one-gun-a-month purchasing limit.
Of course, the "high capacity" magazine ban and the one-gun-a-month purchasing limit will only apply to law-abiding citizens. Criminals will still have "high capacity" magazines and will get all the guns they want because do not obey laws, nor do they buy their guns at a gun store or sporting goods chain where a purchasing limit will be enforced.
According to Roll Call, the NRA PAC spent $406,627 on television ads, $35,838 on internet ads, and $23,808 on printing, postage, and email alerts.

The sad thing is, this is money down a rathole.

McAuliffe is anywhere from 8.5 to 12 points ahead, perhaps a tad more.

Cuccinelli despite his pro-gun status is recognized as a whacked out nutjob [intruding in various
personal matters] by most voters esp in denser areas - the battleground you need to win.

It was almost Cuccinelli's race to lose and he gladly took on the job by opening his mouth with all
the 'family values' government intrusion BS.

Not so sure you got the numbers right Bill . Regardless of how bad Cuccinelli is on issues not related to guns or low cost energy, jobs etc. Terry ( the punk ) Mcaliff has never been elected to anything . Admittedly he knows how to raise money, so far he has spent 9 mill plus to Cuccinelli 6 plus .

This poll has the race a dead heat! Looks like libertarians decide who gets elected ! Obviously some big democrat bucks going toward the libertarians!

A new poll, provided exclusively to Breitbart News, finds the Virginia Governor's race a virtual dead-heat, with Democrat Terry McAuliffe leading Republican Ken Cuccinelli 41%-40%. Libertarian Robert Sarvis garners 10% and 9% of likely voters who remain undecided. With less than two weeks to go, the race is a toss-up that will likely be decided by turnout, a critical factor in an off-year election.
The poll comes from Wenzel Strategies, which accurately predicted closing momentum for Sens. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Deb Fischer, among others. The slight edge McAuliffe holds is due mostly to stronger support within his partisan base. 81% of Democrats support McAuliffe, against just 68% of Republicans who support Cuccinelli.
Cuccinelli's support seems be building, however, as public attention moves away from the recent government shutdown to the failing implementation of ObamaCare. Cuccinelli was a leading national figure suing to overturn the health care law.
The closeness of the race is apparent in the millions spent by left-wing groups to support McAuliffe in the closing days. In addition, Hillary and Bill Clinton, close allies of McAuliffe, have made themselves permanent fixtures in the Commonwealth, campaigning on his behalf.
“There’s a reason the Clintons have been called in to spend a week campaigning for McAuliffe and that Bloomberg is pouring in millions with 2 weeks to go,” Brian Baker, President of Ending Spending Action Fund, which commissioned the poll, told Breitbart News. “Their internals must be showing what our poll indicates -- that his unfavorables are high and they must try to suppress Cuccinelli turnout to prevail. All indications are that the numbers are closing, especially post shutdown. The focus will be where the undecideds go and what will Sarvis draw? With the race this close, the poll indicates a vote for Sarvis is a vote for McAuliffe.”
History also is on Cuccinelli's side. Since the 1980s, the winner of the Virginia Governor's race has always been from the opposite party of that occupying the White House.

I recall you saying Brown would veto sb374 ! I honestly thought you were dreaming! Fortunately it was I who did not call that one right !

This election is nearly even according to some realistic pollsters. It appears the 9% libertarians hold the future as to who gets elected. I will predict libertarians will vote for their candidate and in doing so will elect F- Macaulliff over A rated Cuccenelli.

Folks who want a progun governor may want to send a contribution to Ken Cuccinelli. Its way to close to throw in the towel, even considering the most politically naive people on earth hold the key as to who wins .
