The January 21st, 2008 issue of Shotgun News has one of those articles that makes you want to puke. On page 30, there is an article, Hammerless Safety S&W by Frank James. In it James reiterates the old gunshop commando rant that the external saftey locks on S&W revolvers is a result of California gun laws. He also claims that he was told this by (un-named) S&W reps.
Why does this fairy tale persist? I know of no California law that requires a lock to be installed on a handgun before it can be tested and sold in this state, yet it appears in print as if it were gospel.

Wasn't the lock thing from the deal the old S&W regime made with the Clinton (devil) administration?

I don't know about that, but the company that owns S&W was/is a manufacturer of gun locks.

So... why didn't he buy a Taurus instead?
