While open carry was technically legal in Mississippi, Jim Crow era courts had interpreted the ban on unlicensed concealed carry so broadly that carrying a gun in an exposed belt holster or even in the hand was considered unlawful concealed carry because the holster or hand partly covered the weapon. That's now changed, and the legislature (backed by the state Supreme Court) changed the law to explicitly allow the use of holsters.

The headline should be "MS legalizes unlicensed open carry", you could open carry before but you needed a CCW.

Your correct ! One anti gun judge ruled a holster made the gun concealed ! Mississippians were outraged and they got it fixed !
Good job Mississippi !

When we can open carry in CA?

When we convince every progun person to vote, promote and elevate NRA GOA candidates and they get enough power to write and pass legislation .

Lets not forget Texas did not get CCW until Governor Bush signed it .
Same with Wisconsin! It took republican Scott Walker to sign CCW !

If we were unified we could even achieve 2a victories here .:)
