Presidential Candidates Pics on Yahoo Politics Page (http://news.yahoo.com/election/2008/candidates;_ylt=Al_E200pvZRCTTpBvLQ.sGRsnwcF)

Is it me or does it look like whoever set up this Yahoo news page picked all (nearly) smiling Democratic candidates, but oddly :TFH: the Republican pics all seem "serious" or "doom and gloom."

You make the call!

Yeah that sucks. I wish the news could just report it instead of twist it.

Nothing in the media happens by coincidence.

A human being (sort of) has to select each and every one of those pictures to publish.

I guess we should just thank them that they don't have little horns and mustaches drawn on the repubs.

What's funny, is FOX news, one of the more obvious propagandists, uses equally friendly pics for all the candidates....

It is "advocacy journalism" at its finest. Select the best photos of people we like and select the most unflattering pictures of those whom we are less inclined to support. For example, I have never seen a good picture of GWB on the Google news home page, which is a composite of many news sources.

Even more insidious is their writing style has changed from reporting facts and information to projecting their opinions and speculation. S**t that belongs in the editorial section is now front page headline material.

Except for Gravel and McCain.

It still fits. Gravel is a nobody, and McCain is the media's favorite republican because he's not a conservative.

Nixon lost to Kennedy in 1960 due largely to how bad he looked in the Presidential debate prior to the election. Nixon was leading in the polls until the debate where he looked old and tired.

The first debate held on September 26, 1960, between Senator John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard M. Nixon--especially the visual contrast between the televised image of the tanned, handsome Kennedy and the pale, sweating Nixon--is widely attributed as a key factor contributing to Kennedy's narrow victory in the November election.

Nobody wants to vote for a mean, scowling SOB, especially when the pictures make them looked deformed or retarded. I've seen some equally unflattering pictures of Hillbillary, and one of Osama Obama with a rolled up $100 bill hanging from his nose (think of where your money has been the next time you handle a $100 bill).

McCain looks to me to have a very uncomfortable smile on his face. Like someone just asked him an embarrassing he question that he has to think about before answering.

The photos sure look as if they were picked by a Democratically biased person to me.
