For the price, you can get almost 3 PMAG rebuild kits from 44mag.com (assuming you have 3 mags to rebuild)

HK mags aren't so hot for the high price, the military no longer is authorized to use them due to serious design flaw issues.

I've heard that some have problems with the mags denting when dropping them on concrete during mag changes due to their weight. I've never heard of it first hand though. Always a friend of a brother's girlfriend's cousin type of story.

The steel is soft so when it is dropped, it will cause dents which leads to the follower binding or the magazine feed lips being warped.

In addition, the spring tends to fail after 500 rounds.

People who have complained to HK about this have basically been told to go kick rocks, and that the solution is that "magazines are disposable items, if they are broken, buy more."

This is not he-said she-said, it is a verifiable fact that our armed forces are no longer procuring and issuing these mags.

It's just a sales ad on the forum. HK mags for $35 each and that he will break the mags apart for rebuild kits.

My bro is an Army Ranger and he has nothing but good things to say about them.. 'cept the heavy weight. Says the trade off of weight is minor to the advantage of reliability.

Oh, and I'm told Rangers don't drop their mags. They do a tactical reload thing where they stow it back on their person. Leaving a mag behind is a faux pas and they get spanked if done in training.

EDIT: good read on Arfcom. I hope the Army knows more now than what I've been relayed. Although I Kinda like that video for the Cammenga mags! :D

Yea that vid was bad ***. I would love to have a couple of those for the range. Don't think I would trust that for home defense until I put a couple thousand rounds thru it though.

this is my add that has been linked, i just got registered here so that i could reply. i would have responded earlier but i was having trouble getting registered and had to have a Mod set my account up for me.

first i want to thank all those that have placed orders and all have been shipped at this time. i still have some rebuild kits available but i am getting very low at this time. i may be able to get more later if demand is high enough but the price will most likely be a little more than the $35 they are priced at now.

anyone interested can contact me through this site or by e-mail at jan955@comcast.net. i will also place an add in the private sale section. thanks.

Gorvibub- Are you the FALfile ad owner, or the Cammenga dealer?

Most of us did not see the FAL ad as it needed an account to view.

+1 on gorvibub. Already had my crappy aluminum USGI mag's pulled apart when the mail man dropped off a package of HK goodness at my door. Couldn't be happier.
