View Full Version : "What if" question. How?

The question revolves around the "what if", worst case scenario.

Feinstein is already calling for a national gun control thing, the President has made an announcement regarding executive action, blah blah blah...

Assuming it all skates through cleanly, even though it's based on false information and lack of logic, how does overturning it work?

I know anything done locally and statewide goes through appeals courts and whatnot, from local to state to federal circuit.

But how does a nation wide, federal law get disputed? Is there even a court that handles these outside SCOTUS?

Honestly, I have no idea. I don't know how the court system works in regard to federal law. All I know is that WE will not get a chance to vote on it before it goes in, that's on our Congressmen and women, and we'll need to push them to do what WE want, as we elected them in, even if it's against personal opinion and outside influence.

I'm asking how the system works.
