I'm interested in a Tikka, but my local shops don't carry them. I'd like to handle one and besides I prefer to support local business. Anyone know who has them in the North Bay Area?
Would also take recommendations for a local ffl who deals in them.

By the way, if you know of anyone who would like to sell their t3 lite in 30-06, .308, or .270, please pm me.

North bay, dunno. But they are a rarity. I've seen one Tikka in one shop(and it wasn't what I wanted) and had to go to another shop and have them order it for me(and haven't seen anymore in a shop since). It's another option that still supports a local business, just because they don't carry it regularly doesn't mean they can't get one from a distributor.

Especially bolt guns are easy to get on order

Its not the north bay, but Sportsmen's Warehouse in Stockton has a wide selection of them. May be worth the drive to you.

Thanks for the replies. I'll look into ordering, or try to swing through Stockton. Maybe make a fishing excursion.

I've heard nothing but good things about Tikkas. Anyone hear otherwise?

Can't find a listing for that store. Do you mean Outdoor Sportsman or BassPro a little south of there?

Thanks

I got one of my Tikkas at Cabelas, it was cheaper from them, and no local dealer could get them.

Outdoor Sportsman in Stockton has them. A buddy of mine just picked one up in 30-06.

If you are going for a hunting rifle why not just get a T/C dimension:

google search reviews, they are all great. You get accuracy and flexibility of caliber.

Thanks for the responses and information. I'm not familiar with the T/C dimension. I'll have to research that.
I am in the Sonoma County area. I'll check Dick's in P-town asap.

You and me are in the same boat. I checked Gunsamerica.com and found a few coming from the East Coast. I'm looking into a Varmint or Super Varmint, ideally in 22-250 Left Hand. I can do right hand if needed (I'm somewhat ambidexterous). Good luck in finding what you want.

I just put a Tikka T3 lite in.270 on hold at Imbert and Smithers in San Carlos. I know its not the north bay, but they had a few there in different calibers

edit: it was a T3 Lite Stainless in .270

If you have a Sports Authority in your area, check with them. It is a often overlooked outlet for Tikka's and Savage rifles.
The local one here in Redding usually has a pretty good selection of T3's on the shelf at good prices.

How do you like your Tikka??? Mild or wild (and everything in between)?

What do you plan to use it for? Plenty of power. A friend of mine has taken a couple of pretty good sized Arizona elk with it.

California pigs and deer. Unlikely I'll be going out for elk. I thought the 7mm mag might be overkill for what I want.( is that possible??)

Pigs and deer a 308, 270, or 30-06 would be fine. 7mm is a little more than needed but it would still work fine.

I agree. I have a 7 mm rem mag., and it's a little bit much unless you're after bigger stuff. Of course you can always use reduced loads, but loaded to its potential 7 mag. ammo is more expensive and about the limit of recoil I tolerate, so not much fun at the range. When I got mine I had visions of long cross-canyon shots at big mulies, but that never really materialized. The calibers in NorCalFocus's post could handle those anyway.

Try B2 Enterprises in Cotati. They has a couple of T3 Lite's in stock the last time I was there.
