Next stop California..if it could be done in co it could be done in ca.. and I'm sure with all the current and new gun owners out there, a grassroots effort would surely be very effective..

Let this be a political warning to California lawmakers.. U will be voted OUT! The people have spoken..

Awesome! This will seriously change the tone in Colorado. The one thing politicians fear most is being stripped of their power.

Huzzah

A lot of serious grassroots work went into that one. It was volunteers showing up and knocking on doors that beat the massive infusion of funds from Bloomberg and his ilk.

This was an awesome outcome for everyone who believes in the Constitution!!! The best news I've heard all year! The numbers suggest that more than a few people in Giron's party voted to oust her!

Excellent! Even so that still leaves Colorado with the gun control laws in effect. Still work to be done.

So. Awesome.

Now sit back and watch CO Dems fall over themselves to repeal all the nonsense they passed. This sends a STRONG national message that messing with freedom will cost you jobs. New national gun control is no longer possible, at least for the next few years. Way to go, CO! Stay vigilant and keep the ball rolling!

Angela Giron seems confused. Losing a recall election is the death of a political career. She still seems to think that she has a chance of being elected to do something. Unless we need to elect a radiation canary or a tackling dummy, her political career is over. Good riddance. What a POS.

This is fantastic. Maybe the politicians will tell Bloomberg & his road show to take a hike when they come in to town. It looks the little man from New York can end a career & his money ain't no good any more....

Good to see America still exists somewhere and has teeth.

I'm still quite saddened that it took this much effort to reverse politicians' anti-Constitutional behavior, but we'll have to take what we can get these days.

So, the anti-Constitutionalists outspent us by 10-1 & we still kicked their tails?

No one said that the fight for freedom would be easy. And this is just the first step.

Excellent! Even so that still leaves Colorado with the gun control laws in effect. Still work to be done.

Yes, but the task is made easier now that the anti-Constitutionalists have been put on notice.

I'm waiting for my fundraising email from Mark and Gabby Giffords explaining how they really showed that the NRA and the rest of the Civil Rights movement are just a bunch of toothless tigers...

...should be coming any minute now...

There was a lot of talk 6 months ago that the NRA got it's power by buying elections. Bloomberg and Giffords were going to match the NRA dollar for dollar and level the playing field. The message was clear:

"You can feel safe voting anti-gun now. We'll protect you."

In Bloomberg's defense, he stood by his word and matched the NRA with his own money. Then his organization, MAIG, did a hell of a lot more than that. (Where was Gifford's organization, Americans for Responsible Solutions?)

It didn't work. It's worse than just flushing the money. It showed that even overwhelming monetary support couldn't save them. It might have even hurt them. Colorado residents don't seem to appreciate the outside influence.

Now a new message is sent:
"Go against your constituents and you better brush up that resume."

Great article here...

Saw this tidbit:

“This election does not reflect the will of Coloradans, a majority of whom strongly support background checks and opposed these recalls,” said Bloomberg in a statement distributed by Mayors Against Illegal Guns, the group he co-founded. “It was a reflection of a very small, carefully selected population of voters’ views on the legislature’s overall agenda this session.”

ROFL - says the MAYOR OF NEW YORK regarding the WILL OF COLORADANS!!...

you cant make this stuff up people!!! :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

EDIT: Bloomberg spent $350,000 trying to BUY the will of Coloradans is more accurate!! http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/09/10/Remember-That-Time-Bloomberg-Spent-350-000-And-He-Got-Was-A-Lousy-T-Shirt

I love the moms demand action PR statement, it is just a bunch of lies.

http://www.sacbee.com/2013/09/10/5725589/official-statement-moms-demand.html

""The gun lobby may have won this local battle, but they will not win the national war. The National Rifle Association purposely called this recall election in Colorado just a year before the regular election cycle to ensure voting obstacles and low voter turnout. This reckless desire to remove legislators from office in an off-election year cost Coloradans more than $500,000 an egregious waste of taxpayer dollars.

From the outset, this recall was designed as a tool of intimidation funded by the gun lobby. What a ridiculous temper tantrum by a bunch of bullies moms know them when we see them.

No. But we surely can target at least one vunerable candidate for recall.

Time to use those rules for radicals the SOBs have been using against us...

So Bloomberg is quoted here (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2013/09/11/the-colorado-recalls-dealt-a-serious-blow-to-gun-control-advocates-heres-why/?hpid=z4) as saying:
“This election does not reflect the will of Coloradans, a majority of whom strongly support background checks and opposed these recalls..”

But here (http://www.volokh.com/2013/09/11/colorado-recalls-explained/) it comes out later that:
While the gun control bills were before the Senate in March, President Morse urged his caucus to stop reading emails, to stop reading letters from constituents, to stop listening to voicemails, to vote for the gun bills and ignore the constituents.
and
....It’s one thing for a deliberately polarizing legislator like Morse to lose a close race in a swing district. It’s quite another for Giron to lose by 12 points in a district that is 47% Democratic and 23% Republican. One reason is that in blue collar districts like Pueblo, there are plenty of Democrats who cling to their Second Amendment rights. As the Denver Post noted (http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_24061438/colorado-recall-elections-underway-morse-giron?source=rss), 20% of the voters who signed the Giron recall petitions were Democrats....

One must ask themselves exactly who is out of touch here??

I saw someone make a claim on FB  That people had been shipped in, to vote for Giron .. They tried using the hotel address but where refused the ability to vote due to the Voter Id laws there.. Giron complained that people's rights where being oppressed. :TFH:

Found a story .. http://www.gopusa.com/news/2013/09/09/voter-fraud-allegations-in-gun-control-recall-elections/

Now onto this beauty..
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/09/11/noted-polling-firm-we-shelved-poll-predicting-recall-loss-for-anti-gun-colorado-senator/#

In short, PPP believes Giron must have lost for a reason other than gun control because Colorado’s new laws aren’t that unpopular.

“Expanded background checks for gun buyers had 68/27 support among voters in the district, reflecting the overwhelming popularity for that we’ve found across the country,” Jensen wrote. “And voters were evenly divided on the law limiting high capacity ammunition magazines to 15 bullets, with 47 percent supporting and 47 percent opposing it.”

He said those numbers don’t square with Giron being recalled by a 12-point margin.

And here’s another interesting bit of information presented by PPP: voters in Giron’s district have a favorable opinion of the National Rifle Association by a 53/33 margin.

Jensen went on to argue that the NRA helped defeat Giron by making it about gun rights as a whole and not about the “pretty unobtrusive” anti-gun laws she helped pass.
