We probably won't get any updates until after the polls close tonight. Early turnout in Colorado Springs was supposedly larger than last years election.

I'm hoping the turnout picks up after 4ish. Giving folks who work the benefit of the doubt...

If they get ousted, you will hear nothing. If they retain their seats then we will hear how the 2a is dead and more common sense gun laws are needed and wanted by the public.

Almost 69% against it. Kind of a slaughter. But at least Morse is being recalled.

Kinda saw this one coming. One win, one loss.

At least the antis can't claim total victory and say that Gun Control is acceptable.

Then again, neither can the NRA say that Gun Control is a losing issue.

I think it ultimately depends on the demographics and the districts.

It's still early.

According to the article, there were 32k votes cast in Pueblo, Girons' county, the returns are based on less than 1000 votes counted.

1 down, 1 to go! Too bad this won't make any of the CA nutjobs nervous. Maybe if we could start with 1 to recall and work our way up the food chain.

I hope it makes them very nervous, I'm getting a tad bit tired of people telling me what, when and how I can do something I have a right to do,,,,,regardless of there personal opinion,,,

Yeah, if both go down in defeat today, the legislators in other states will take notice. Our CA legislators are too pompous to notice because they think they are above all the "unwashed masses" that are their constituents.

Wow, I thought Giron was safe and she lost by a much bigger margin than Morse.

I guess $3M just doesn't buy what it used to. That may not be much money for Mr Bloomberg but $3M for absolutely nothing still has to sting a little.

Because to make up the deficit with the votes remaining to be counted would require a near sweep.

I wonder what's next - do the new Republican senators immediately propose a constitutional amendment to prevent laws limiting magazine size from being passed? How do they undo this mag ban?

After the ***** kicking we received here in Cali in the past few days, this made my week! I'm going to drink a beer and say a toast to all those who worked so hard to make this happen! Good job to everyone who was involved and to those who stood up to those who oppressed and refused to listen!!!!!!!

Dems in the Colo senate will still hold an 18-17 seat majority. The R's still won't get any committee chairs to move legislation forward, but I predict it will be very entertaining to watch the Senate floor because if a single D wanders off the reservation, the D's lose the vote. It will mean that the new Senate majority leader will have a hellish job getting everyone to agree -- because every single one of his/her tribe will hold a trump ace, and will want something in return for playing it. It takes a master to hold a caucus together like that.

About 25 years ago or so, when I lived in Minnesota, the R's had a 1 seat majority in the house. Vote after vote went straight party-line, with the speaker casting the tie-breaker. It took iron discipline to hold the caucus together -- but he pulled it off and with very little intra-party friction. Doing that takes 'the right stuff' -- it will be interesting to see if the new Colo Senate President has it.

Is there anybody in CA who we could consider 'low hanging fruit'? One thing about off-election year elections...dems usually don't come out in droves.

We do have some ammo on our side:
The dems have pushed through legislation that allows boys to go into girls restrooms and locker rooms without parent permission and notification, and vice-versa. Opening our children up to possible sexual assault (see next line for a corollary).

They (dems) have pushed through legislation that bars schools from suspending students for sexual assault and bullying.

They are pushing legislation through that will make criminals out of innocent people who are robbed while on vacation.

They are looking at getting rid of prop 13.

They are pushing through bills and laws that are making it easier for criminals to rape, murder, kidnap, molest and victimize our children.
