30-30 flat nose ammo in bulk - Any suggestions?

i usually use Remington core-lokt but i cant find it in bulk.

Do you nice folks have any suggestions on something similar in price/quality ?

Never tried homeloads/reloads but im open to that, too

how do you like the Rem Core-lokt? I'm looking for Lever ammo that shoots flat.

PRVI makes 30-30 ammo, I've used a lot of their stuff in milsurps, its good affordable ammo. Grafs usually has it in stock.

chiro22, Rem 30-30 ammo runs nicely through my rifles.
and to be honest, the Rem is pretty much all ive shot through my 30-30s so i dont have a lot to compare it to.. wish i had more to say about it...cheers

deadcoyote, Ive been looking for some prvi in bulk but my go to ammo guys (SG) sell out their newly stocked prvi 30-30 in like 2.4 seconds! lol
ive never tried grafs...gonna go look now..thanks bud

I always see 30-30 at the local Wal-Mart but think the now have a limit on how many you can buy at a time.
Check Cabela's they have Remington on sale fr &18 a box.

Core-loct isn't horrible. But its not going to shoot flat in 30-30. Only good for about 200 yards.

The best case scenario is the leverevolution load with the 160 FTX bullet IMO (for a flatter shootin' 30-30)

thanks guys

Do you think Win Silvertips are better than the core-loct?
i tend to shoot whatever's on sale..

Silvertips, if they're the ones I think you're talking about, are premium bullets for hunting. I would not fling those at paper. Yes they are better than Core-Loct, but Core-Loct is a better paper puncher.

Is this a 30-30 lever or bolt gun?

30-30 lever (sorry for leaving that out)

Have you been saving your brass? 30-30 is an easy one to reload. It shoots cast bullets very well (they are the lowest in cost). It was the first cartridge I reloaded years ago with a Lee Classic Loader. The Lee loaders are still around and are only about $25. Check on UTube for Lee Loader videos.

I actually use a lot of silvertips and they shoot good and kill deer and pigs pretty easily. I'm not familiar with your area but I live pretty rural and it seems like every other yard sale I go to has an old weathered box of 30-30 silvertips for sale. That's pretty much where all my 30-30 ammo comes from. I can attest it holds up to age well too! never had a misfire.

Checkout the ballistics on these, it turns the 30-30 into a .308! (well almost anyway...lol)
