Generally, I switch it up between a:
Gerber 06 Auto (heavy as sin, but it's one of the few Gerbers still made in the US.)
Benchmade Griptillian Tanto
Benchmade Osborne Rift

Depends on what I'm wearing. If I'm in a suit, Kershaw Scallion. I love that little thing.

I like the Blur, but I don't carry because its tip down and I'm to lazy to go buy the star bit to switch the clip around.

I switch between a folding coyote Ka-Bar Dozier (amazingly light, holds a edge great, and only $22) and an orange Benchmade 915 Triage. Both are great depending on what I have going on that day, though I tend to gravitate towards the Ka-Bar given its weight and smaller overall size.

fixed concealed blades = felony isn't it?

If it is then there are ALOT of people who are committing felonies right now. I've met people who carry the large KA-BAR TDIs and push knives.

I used to carry a cheap 4 inch fixed blade concealed (forgot what brand) because wearing it out on my belt openly scared people around me even though it's perfectly legal to do. Then I fell in love Cold Steel's knives because their locking mechanisms on their folders have NEVER failed me.

Right now I carry their XL Vaquero fully serrated or the American Lawman for utility purpose work.

I switch it up based on my clothes and what type of thing I am going to be doing. Usually, I will carry a "main" blade like a blur or volt II, but I have several other smaller or lighter, or cheaper ones for other occasions. Sometimes I also carry a leather man wingman. Usually, I will have a Swiss Army classic or leather man style with a single AAA flashlight on the keychain. I like having a nail file, tweezer, and scissors on me. Sometimes the flashlight and keychain knife will suffice, and I leave the main blade behind. Also usually an imco or zippo lighter. I have 5-6 knives in the "rotation" for my main edc.

MY EDC

I have been buying, selling, and trading knives as a hobby for sometime. Even before I got into guns when violence in the area got closer to home.

My EDC is

Guns
Strongside Colt 1911 45acp with Hornady critical defense hollow points.
backup in weak side front pocket Smith & Wesson bodyguard .380 with Finocchi hollow points. Both are racked, and have one in the pipe. I carry a mag for each of extra ammo.

Knives
Kershaw Compound spring assisted straight edge strong side and a Gerber ez out lockback weakside ( someone grabs my gun on my strong side they have problems)

Flashlight
Ultrafire I was given. It has a defense bezel on the front where the light is and its in a holster on my weakside.

Sorry issue with putting a pic in.

Flashlight: Surefire E2D LED Defender (soon to be upgraded to a E2D LED Defender Ultra)

Just as an FYI since many people like Benchmade, but they are not always the easiest knives to find ( depending on where you go)

If you like Benchmade and have a hard time finding them HK knives (usa version) are made by Benchmade. The import HK knives are styled after Benchmade but not made by them

lately it's been ZT0550... I really like this thing for EDC, didn't take any time to "grow on me" like some others...

I've carried ZT0561 for a while - surprisingly comfortable for such a big knife... also have a 0300, 0350 and 0200, not fond of them for EDC

Used to carry Sog Aegis mini - need to get a regular size Aegis - I really like that knife for general use...

Kershaw Blur is okay - used to really like it, but after carrying some others, it just sits...

I've gone through many knives for EDC (lost count of how many I have anymore)... and the ZT0550 is the only thing (other than Aegis) that I even consider for EDC these days - as of now, it's the only knife (of many) that I really wouldn't want to get rid of.

ETA - obligatory photos:

0350, 0550, 0200, 0301, 0561 (301 is a tank and a fun carry, but not practical - 561 is a surprisingly nice EDC, considering it's size)

speaking of CRKT - one that I hadn't mentioned previously, but is incredibly AWESOME is their Foresight: http://www.crkt.com/Foresight-Folding-Knife?srch_pid=527&child=527&search_id=523490 I don't have a photo of mine, but this is by far my favorite fondling knife - it is impossible not to want to pick it up... I keep it on end table beside couch - not at all an EDC, but such a cool knife...

Another nice CRKT that I recently acquired is Shenanigan: http://www.crkt.com/Shenanigan6061 - again, I have no photo of mine, but I'm a big fan of Ken Onion and this actually would be a nice EDC (but it sits as I carry ZT0550).

Okay, I should have never stumbled into the blade forum... I'm clearly too giddy about my blade addiction :o

Here's the penal code on carrying a knife on school grounds:

626.10. (a) Any person, except a duly appointed peace officer as defined in Chapter 4.5 (commencing with Section 830) of Title 3 of Part 2, a full-time paid peace officer of another state or the federal government who is carrying out official duties while in this state, a person summoned by any officer to assist in making arrests or preserving the peace while the person is actually engaged in assisting any officer, or a member of the military forces of this state or the United States who is engaged in the performance of his or her duties, who brings or possesses any dirk, dagger, ice pick, knife having a blade longer than 2-1/2 inches, folding knife with a blade that locks into place, a razor with an unguarded blade, a taser, or a stun gun, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 244.5, any instrument that expels a metallic projectile such as a BB or a pellet, through the force of air pressure, CO2 pressure, or spring action, or any spot marker gun, upon the grounds of, or within, any public or private school providing instruction in kindergarten or any of grades 1 to 12, inclusive, is guilty of a public offense, punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by imprisonment in the state prison. [Ed. Note: This is the paragraph dealing with legal carry on K-12 school grounds. Note that folding lockblades bigger than 2.5" are banned.

I bolded the relevant parts. Basically, on the grounds of any K-12 school, you cannot bring ANY knife with a blade longer than 2-1/2" or a folding knife that locks in the open position. The Cold Steel knife that you suggested, while definitely nice, would not be allowed on school grounds because the blade is 3-3/4" long. The Boker Plus Subcom 42 is a slip-joint knife, so it doesn't lock into place when you open it, and the blade is only 1-7/8" long. With my daughter's pre-school being on the grounds of an elementary school, I need to comply with this requirement.

you're right... I was more relating to the purpose of titanium than actually carrying at a school... but considering the penal code listed - my interpretation of your implication may have been off anyway.

The cold steel reference was more to indicate material and function... not so much about where to carry... in retrospect - your reason to carry titanium wouldn't matter anyway really... so the short answer is; no, it didn't mean what I thought it did.

Ah, gotcha. No worries. Like I said, that Cold Steel knife is pretty nice. It looks like it would make a nice boot knife / last ditch knife. My only question is if comes with any kind of sheath?

EDIT: Oh, and the only reason I got the Subcom 42 in titanium is that I didn't want the one with the orange or pink handle. And it doesn't come in any other colors. Can you believe that?

Right front pocket either an Emerson super cqc-8 or UBR commander. Left front pocket Emerson Super Karambit. Set up for reverse grip deployment. None of the some 23 Emersons I own have ever let me down. Yes I have drank the kool-aid but they are really nice knives :D

Benchmade for carry... cause they're the cheapest knives I own.

1. Pardue 530 (open letters and packages

2. Skirmish (fancy restaurants, date night)

3. Onslaught (for rough neighborhoods, business away from the shop)

and for formal occasions,
4. The Osborne 940... The quintessential benchy for all time.

I guess I have a thing for black on black and metal handles.

CRKT M-16 (circa 2003) Love this thing. It's my backpacking folder.
Kershaw Blur Literally just bought one. I hesitated because I thought it looked sort of cheap, but now that I have it in hand I can see how it's so popular. This thing feels fantastic and the assisted open just flies.
SOG Twitch XL This was my EDC prior to the blur. I absolutely love it, but I want to carry it less.
SOG Twitch 2 Bought this one before the XL thinking it was bigger and really dig the look of it. I keep it in the truck to open mail, etc.

Like a lot of others, I change my EDC knife almost every day depending on my attire and the pants I'm wearing. One of my "regulars" is an old Benchmade 750 Ti Pinnacle, but often go for my CRKT M16-03, CRKT Nirk Tighe or CRKT Shennanigan (http://www.opticsplanet.com/s/crkt-knives). However, I have to add that I'm old school and often carry one of my favorite slip-joint knives as well!

Does it have a 'bias toward closure'? PC 17235, in part - "Switchblade knife" does not
include a knife that opens with one hand utilizing thumb pressure
applied solely to the blade of the knife or a thumb stud attached to
the blade, provided that the knife has a detent or other mechanism
that provides resistance that must be overcome in opening the blade,
or that biases the blade back toward its closed position.

It is a "speed safe" with a 3.75'' blade. I wouldn't say it snaps back into the closed position.

it's a great knife - one of my favorite ZTs... built like a tank! A little bulky for EDC for me though... I've been using ZT 0550 these days, which I really like for EDC... I alternate it with Sog Aegis, which I actually like even better (because it literally disappears into my pocket - but easily drawn).

Zero Tolerance 0770CF on my left side, and my M&P Shield .40 on my right side (I'm right handed). Flipper and assisted opening makes deploying with my left hand more reliable.

On days where I can't carry a gun, I would like to keep an Emerson CQC-7 in my right pocket. The wave feature makes it a very fast deployment. I don't actually have this knife yet, but I'll buy one when a used one comes up in the right finish and blade shape.

I have two other EDC knives, a Benchmade Mini-Griptillian for when I can't carry a knife over 3" and a Chris Reeve Small Sebenza with the Insingo grind for when I'm in a suit.

I carry a Sable Damascus. Easy to sharpen (for me, anyways), holds an edge. Best investment I've made in a knife in a long time.
I wish I had a 60" monitor I might be able to see it better! lol

DPX HEST 2.0
Made by Lionsteel out of Italy

I know what this man needs, bring me the bourbon!
-CK Medic 538

I carry the DPX HEST/F Triple Black. I love it. I have an assortment of ZT knives, but the DPX gets carried the most.

ZT has some collaborations with Emerson that look pretty sweet!

Kershaw Ken Onion Leek most of the time. Every now and then a DPX Hest. Really like the functionality of the Hest, but it's considerably thicker than the Kershaw.

I've been trying to pick a folder EDC for some time now - not so easy. When it comes to blade locking - I need to do much more reading. Positive locked closed and locked open would be best.

I have several Gerbers and Multipliers so I have a fair idea of what I'm looking for and it's uses.

Looking for:

- ~3.5" blade, makes for a knife that fits my hand.
- Pretty sure I want some serration on it.
- Thumbstud assist looks more effective than a hole.
- Synthetic grip, that has grip.
- ~.5" handle thickness, maybe a bit more.
- Fully reversible clip, tip up or down, right or left side.

BM are nice, but Kershaw is more my price range for this knife.

Thanks!

+1 Kershaw Leek

I bought my wife a Kershaw Leek for an EDC. I liked it so much I bought myself one as well. It's light weight and razor sharp.
