After waiting for 7 months I finally received my parts from rock river and I was able to put my AR together.

Aero Lower
16 Inch RRA Varmint A4 upper half
RRA Single stage LPK with RRA over molded Grip
RRA Car Operator Buttstock with milspec buffer tube
No optic yet.
Cheap UTG bipod that works surprisingly well.

Did you get the lower at the BX or off base FFL?

Off base, but local and pro military.

Ah, I was wondering since it had an insignia. Haven't really seen that in an FFL. Anyways, enough chat, get to the range and make that thing go bang!

Very nice setup. I have a Rock River Varmint upper, the 20 inch model. The thing is a real tack driver, and my go to coyote gun. Make sure to get a good scope for yours!

Your haircut already screams that you're in the military. As do the tags on your vehicle. Relax.

Yes I threw a buddies Leupold on top of it at the range.

What would you guys recommend for a optic to put on top. Money is an issue so a budget friendly scope would be best.

I have a Burris Fullfield II 3.5-10x on my RRA Varmint, great quality scope for the money.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/617220/burris-fullfield-ii-rifle-scope-35-10x-50mm-ballistic-plex-reticle-matte

Mounted on a Burris AR-PEPR mount

The whole package is under $500 and a outstanding value. Burris knows what they are doing and they put out very high quality scopes(comparable to mid range Leupold or Vortex) for a very low price.

If you want a 1-4x for close in tactical type shooting, check out the Burris TAC30 again mounted in the PEPR mount. Those RRA varmint barrels are so accurate they really deserve a high magnification scope though.

Its great and its worth the wait. If your military RRA gives a pretty nice discount, plus their customer service is awesome.
