Are there any out there??

I know DPMS offers a LR 308 platform in the 6.5 Creedmoor
but I cannot find any bolt guns out there besides a savage

Does Remington offer one? Or I have to rebarrel an action?

Ruger makes a No. 1 in 6.5 Creed.

I am not aware of a factory Remington for 6.5 Creed.

How do those shoot?

Depends if you get one made on "Monday" or "Thursday" if you catch my drift.

My No. 1 is a 22-250 and the best load for it shot consistently in .5 MOA out to 500 on a new barrel. Well within "minute of squirrel."

Your best bet for a nice repeater in 6.5 Creed will probably be the home made approach.

GA Precision has a few ready to ship, if you have a bunch of money burning a hole in your pocket. Very, very good rifles.

JP will build you a nice one, too

Does it have to be 6.5 creed? How about 260 rem?

Don't think I can afford such a beautiful rifle

should I just buy a 308, shoot it out, and rebarrel?

I can rebarrel almost any 308 into a 6.5 creedmore.

Ruger currently makes their 77V in 6.5 Creedmoor. I have one and it shoots great, reloading is very easy. Nice long neck and Hornady brass is excellent. As much as I like the Ruger No1 that wouldn't be my first choice unless I was prepared to fiddle with it - which is exactly what I'm doing with a No1 V in 220 Swift. My No3 shoots better than my No1 - on occasion my No1 shoots like "No2" .... :o

I have a T/C Encore barrel (made by MGM) in 260 Remington and as a practical matter, shooting 100 to 300 yds, I don't see any real difference. I suppose when group sizes are measured with calipers the 6.5 Creedmoor wins.

what about 270?
I plan on just picking up a used R700 sps or sps varmint etc and rebarreling it from the get go

A 270 is a long action.
Might as well go with 6.5x55 or 6.5x284 on that action as you would have even more powder capacity which lets you go faster.

6.5 Creedmore is a short action cartridge.
Look for 308's or 243's to build on.

Good man. I think there was a SPS-T or SPS-V down by you for close to 525.00. I cant find it today or I would send you a link. FYI dicks (yes i know all the BS) has heavy barrel 700's in ADL fashion (perfect for putting in a chassis) for 569.99. They have ALOT and access to tons. Its a special they run threw there stores. They have rebates in stores that can get you up too 100.00 off. Black friday they were 369.99, ended up being like $438.99 out the door. It includes a cheapy 4-12 scope too.

any advantage if I decide to go with a 6.5x55 instead of a 6.5 creedmoor or 260?

A little bit more velocity.
For me, the upside of a little more velocity does not outweigh all the downsides of the longer action.
Stick to a short action.

will do!
so I'll probably just find a cheap r700 short action and get a 6.5 mm barrel from either krieger or bartlein

We are running a Bartlein barrel group buy right now on Caprc.
Just waiting for 3 or 4 more orders to jump in to make it a go.
$300 gets you a blank.
Shop around and you are not going to find a better deal than that.

There's always the next paycheck.
It's probably gonna be a couple weeks more until we reach the minimum number of barrels.
Just send in your order.
He is not cashing checks until we reach 20 barrels ordered.

The next barrel group but will be next summer.
The next set of clinics will be in spring of next year.

My 308 barrel I think still has some good life in it
But we'll see what happens
I'm about to start school so funds will be accumulated

And please let me know on clinic A next spring, I would like to further develop my fundamentals
