I saw this thread (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=80118&highlight=glue) a while back talking about shooting glue bullets in your garage.

I was going to smear chunky peanut butter all over the inside & outside of my white swimming trunks and go wander around the beach bending over in front of people, but since it will be raining I think i will just research methods of zombie defense while wearing bunny slippers

I was thinking the same thing. Our best bet is trying to catch the tail end of the rain on Sunday. Outdoor ranges are rain or shine.. I might just do that.

It is suppose to dump up here this weekend. Perfect weather for kicking off our 2008 season.

They say a 4 to 6 inches of rain in the next few days. We'll see who is willing to get their rigs wet this weekend. LOL

Pete-you could come on up and find out how snow and rain affect your trajectory.:D

With what the weatherman says is in store for my neighborhood, I don't think I'm going to get out. I'm planning on getting behind the dillon for a while and cranking out some 223.

Reloading. Mainly processing more brass.

Probably writing/finishing up some articles for my other website.

I'm going to be working on Sunday, 10-11 hours at the range. Unfortunately, I am out of ammo and I refuse to buy by the box...so i'm SOL

This weekend is a perfect time for reloading and gunsmithing.
Not much other good shooting related things to do unless you duck hunt.

I've been making some neat tweaks on my 700, but now I need to go re-zero...

61gr of RL22 and 200 VLDs? '308' has to be a typo.

I'm sure he meant 30-06. He posted this at another time:

Your kidding right?
I got an 30-06 and shoot 210VLDS.
A good setup would be this:
28" 1-10TW Rock Flueted 5R barrel
Rem L/A
AICS 1.5 0R 2.0
5.5-22x 50mm NPR2 NF
30MOA seekens base

Id shoot 240GR MK, 208gr AMAX, 210gr VLDS. All have an BC of .640 or better, SMKS are over .7 BC whats not to like?

Hmm.. still no rain yet in my neck of the woods. Of course the chances of the weather forecast being completely wrong about any rain this weekend is low.. but one can hope that they're wrong so I can go shooting!

I may go out in a couple hours. Winds are in the 20's, so it'll be for some pistol and AR practice more than anything.

i just came back from APS, and i got my scope dialed in real good. 100yard - 200 dot drills are no problem now.

Prc329
01-05-2008, 12:34 PM
I gotta finish dialing in the windage on my rifle. Elevation is spot on with my load. It has been a little windy the last couple of times I shot so I wasn't sure if it was me, the wind or the scope that was off.

I need to hurry up and get this job finished so I can get my 300 win mag.

I ended up staying home and processed another 1000 pieces of once fired LC03 brass:

I could have went to the range since we have a covered firing line, but I stayed home to prevent my cold from getting worse.

how long did it take to trim those brass with the giraud trimmer?

Building up an M14?
That's actually an M1 Garand that I'm going to sell. I bought it a couple years ago and took it apart after I got it and never fired it. I ordered a spring set from Orion 7 and was going to put it back together with new springs and test fire it next weekend (assuming I get the springs this week).

how long did it take to trim those brass with the giraud trimmer?
I'm not sure. About 3 hours elapsed from the time I started trimming to the time I stopped, but that involved me trimming 100, then hand priming them, then trimming the next 100 and priming them (repeat) and taking a couple breaks to go back into the house and drink some coffee.

PistolPete75

3 hours to trim, debur, champher, and prime 1000 pieces is fast. i got to sell off my dillon 1200 trimmer and rcbs prep kit and get me a giraud.

That reminds me, I gotta load up 200 rounds before the 19th. Gotta steal a few hours to get it done. I'll probably load 200 155s and another 100 in 175s I have left.

Went to the range today and did some shooting. The weather and occasional showers actually made for a very peaceful and serene shooting session.. it was rather nice. Got to do it again.

Hey Peter, what's your avatar a picture of?

PistolPete75
01-06-2008, 9:29 PM
i'm going to try out a new load. i shot my chrono accidently, so i'm guessing my velocity to be around 2700fps based on my dope with my current load. i'm dropping my charge by .3 and taking my oal out to 2.815

i hope to see a little bitter accuracy out of my rifle. i'm trying to squeeze every little bit of accuracy out of my rifle.

are you going with a shorter bipod or going aics?

Prc329
01-06-2008, 10:08 PM
The 6-9 is tall enough now with the pod class on it. With them it is more like a 7-10. I may still keep the longer one but to the way I shoot with the pod claws it seems to long.

I have found that with the Dillon trimmer, you don't actually have to chamfer and deburr.
I have the Dillon trimmer setup on a 650 with a casefeeder and an upgraded RCBS lube/decap die.
I clear about 500 rounds per hour.
Tumbling them breaks off any shavings left from trimming.
