This is a used gun that is in good shape, with some wear at the muzzle. The only real flaw I know of is the rear sight blade is missing a tiny piece and needs adjustment. I purchased this gun used and I know I am at least the third owner, so I do not know its history or round count. I have never had a single problem with it in the 200-300 rounds I have fired. The exception is that the sights need adjustment and I never got around to doing that. See photo.

I just added a photo of the front sight which has a little ding that I just noticed. Also, I added some close up shots by request.

It comes with both sets of grips shown in the photos. Neither set is the original, and I do not have the original. I do not have the box, tools, or paperwork, and nothing else comes with it other than the gun and two sets of grips, one Hogue and the other S&W targets, as shown.

I will not ship this. I will meet at any FFL anywhere in San Diego county to do the PPT. Buyer pays all fees. I could possibly drive farther to do the transfer, but PM me first because it will involve some gas money, to be negotiated.

First "I'll take it" in either the thread or a PM gets it.

I am not accepting lower offers at this time. If I decide to accept less, I will lower the price in the thread. I am not accepting trades.

For questions or to ask for a picture of some specific part of the gun, PM me.

Thanks for your consideration.

I have a 6" 27-2, but if you were in Sacramento I would be sorely tempted. It looks like a nice gun at a more than fair price.

With all the Smith's listed here above $800, I am surprised there's no interest in this fine example at under $600. Maybe I need to raise the price?

If it was a 27-2 at $800 it wouldn't last an hour.

Bump for a gun that really should have sold by now. I wish I could buy it myself but I need the money a lot more than a 9th wheel gun right now :(

Thanks Angry Lobster. Some months the N Frames are highly prized. Other months, can't get a nibble. Someone will wise up.

I really wish this was the 4" model. My first gun was a 28-3 with the 4" inch barrel that was stolen. Also too bad you aren't accepting trades. I have a nice beretta vertec in 40 cal i want to trade for a nice highway patrolman. Good luck with the sale
