I emailed and have called Colt, apparently their on vacation, any one know where a link is to find the the manufacturer date of my Colt Python?

I didn't see one on their sight.

Man that was easy! thanks, that was exactly what I needed,

# 1965 41400
# 1966 50500

Mine falls right in here, 436** so probably 1965, it was my dads duty weapon with the CHP , of course they had to carry .38+P+, man I'm only 2 years older than this gun. I don't know which one looks worse, were both pretty rough! lots of holster wear, on the gun that is.

Bwaaah! I was gonna put up a less tasteful reply :)

I'm sure (and it takes time and probably a fee) Colt may be able to supply paper on its guns. S&W does 'history letters' for their guns.

I don't know if flowers and a movie work on a Colt but try some good lube before tripping it's trigger
