My local gunsmith charges $30 a hole. I sent my in to an online gunsmith now for $10 a hole plus $10 shipping. Well worth it.

$30 a hole was cheap. Other locals wanted $50 a hole.

Da*n, I always wanted to be a online gunsmith.

$30 a hole? On a Marlin this should never been more than fifty bucks.

I might need to get a hold of you once the xmas and new years craziness settles down. Or I may try to do it myself. And pay you more to fix it. :)

Wait till after the madness.

Remember, there is never time to do it right but always time to do it again.

You don't want to drill the wrong hole.

Well....
I really should not talk, 5 divorces later:wub:

That rail looks like a YHM rail.
Just so you know, the radius on the underside is going to be 1"
Your Marlin model 60 is going to be about 0.5" to 0.6"
Plan on either milling the bottom of the rail to fit the receiver, or putting bedding material down to fill the gaps.
If you just drilled holes and put in screws, it won't necesarily be very solid.

Can you give us some names of good online gunsmiths like the one you used? I've looked around my town and can't seem to find one I would like to use.

This online gunsmithing really intrigues me. How do you get the holes? Are they jpg or pdf files? Just kidding. Merry CHRISTmas!
